What fps to use? Both work fine for me but i just don't see any advantage. My sens feels faster cuz it's more responsive but is there actually any advantage in having 250?
Hahaha this feels like effing Tek-9 all over the place when all these console gamers (or not) started COD promod. The daily thread. "250 fps or not" xD.
Also I don't understand how can people who use computers all day, and even play video games, don't understand that the higher the framerate the better it is.
Seriously, higher = better.
In the case of Quake Live, there isn't a big advantage, you won't become Cypher, and everyone can play good on both, this is like the mices thread "WMO?".
Also like H1ghlander said 333 is best if you want big advantage.
333 doesn't give higher/longer jumps in QL like in vanilla quake3.
250fps
- disadvantages: less footsteps sounds, some ppl have sensitivity or acceleration issues.
- advantages: more displayed frames on 144Hz LCDs and some CRTs, less tearing and stuttering, a little lower input lag.
I was joking about 333 fps :D, obviously we can't set 333 fps.
For the engine bugs, like footsteps, these are things that should be fixed, for the sensitivity and acceleration issues as well. But I remember I read a post from SyncError, the said normally there will be no bad impact using 250 fps, well it's not that bad, it's not like people who have these issues can't use their previous settings right? They'll just have to wait if they don't mind (not like they have any choice but to wait anyway).
im using 125 because im not really sure about the relation between maxpackets and maxfps but the higher the fps my ping varies
at 125 fps i get 38 at 144 fps i get 42 at 250 i get 44-48
