Dreamhack Winter 2013 seems to have the the best lineup in ages for Quake Live tournament. I was thinking to make the top4 player predictions and see who will be correct with predictions.

My two favourite players are

Johan "toxjq" Quick and

Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky. I'm looking forward to see toxjq win a big tournament again after so many years.Cypher was my all time fav Quake Live player. I love his unique style. Especially the out of the control style and hes probably favourite to win Dreamhack Winter 2013. I would like to see cypher and toxjc in finals. However, all my 'money' this time is on tox. My predictions are 3:2 in favour of tox.

Well, tox said on stream that he is actually practising against good players this time rather than bashing noobs as usually.
I doubt he is to bet on for the win but he is defenitely not to underestimate.

for diversity sake, and just to break ql lan tournament monotony i hope rapha and cypher will drop out before quarter finals, or at least in the QF stage.

I actually think a ratio wouldn't help much more. What I would change is that I would count losses (and "time spent losing") as well since even losing is educative. In fact, losses might be more beneficial because the loser likely had to go through harder situations, had to play out of control, etc.

If you wanted to evaluate how much players have benifited from their games in the recent past, than yes, but it appears sirax wanted to rate the shape of players. Somebody who loses to 2300elo players is obviously weaker than someone who wins against 2300elo players even if the losses might bring him ever so slightly closer.

As I said, upsets included. I did not write the most probable results. They are not. I wrote what I think could happen. I genuinely believe if anyone outside of the Big 3 (Rapha, Dahang, Evil) can take down Cypher, it's fazz. Fazz's gamestyle is pretty effective vs Cypher. On the other hand, if you take k1llsen, his gamestyle is good vs Evil, but he struggles a lot vs Cypher.

Cooller always great on lan + he put in a lot of practice lately. Don't judge his shape on his online performance since he stomped @ those 2 LAN's he played lately.

Rapha always couple of steps ahead, the guy is a genious, default #1 spot for me, always.

Cypher being cypher, but his ninja/sneaky play don't really work vs Rapha or getting read most of the time, he'll probably lose 3-2 in finals.

Evil looks inactive lately, hope he's praccing hard next week to get in shape, but I fear his top 3 shape is given out of hand.

Cypher is looking unbelievable lately, he will be hard to beat. I don't know what type form Rapha and Dahang are in... but we'll hopefully see Rapha in faceit tomorrow. Also I think Fraze is playing tomorrow and I think he may have a chance to be a upsetter because he seems to have all the tools to win.

So I'll say top four in no particular order:

Fraze, cypher, rapha, evil.

I may change my prediction after I see tomorrow's faceit. I saw K1llsen play Av3k recently and he was looking pretty sharp too... Of course Av3k is great as well. I think the tourney should be awesome. I'm looking forward to it.

That's crazy that Cypher and Evil are so so good, yet Rapha is the clear favorite. They just might be the three best of all time. All three of them are current champs right (well sort of)? Cypher won the last qcon he was able to attend. Rapha won last years qcon and evil is the last dh winner.
