i streamed some today some but quality is so disappoiting cuz of my shitty internet (upload) ... hope it will get better in future.

Out of curiousity, what specs and connection do you have?
If you have a decent cpu you can get by with around 800-1000kbit at 720p or even 480p at around 600kbit.

intelcore i5 + gtx670 and i have 10mbit/s dl with 640 kbit/s upload. if u know how to improve my quality please do tell.

yea, you need to ramp up that upload sir, like to 5mbit for a proper smooth 720p

5mbit?! Did I miss something like QL being extremely different to any other game while steaming? I could stream LoL and SCII with 1050+ completely fine while having an upload of 2mbit.

... it actually is alot diffrent, cuz of the rapids changes of textures it takes up alot more of bandwith especialy if picmic is set 0. Also what makes a stream realy great from others streams is using antialiasing -just to additionaly smooth out those jagged edges of map arhitecture.

Hmm, but isn't antialiasing more dependent on your actual hardware rather than your upload speed? The other stuff you say makes sense though.

Firstly, what settings are you currently using?

Your settings are less then optimal at the moment.
Your resolution is fine, but your fps is waaay to high and your using no compression (preset) whatsoever.

In short, your encoder cant keep the quality because it has way to many frames to keep up.

Try this.

fps: 25
bitrate: 450-500 with CBR on
preset: fast

There are also a couple of things you can do ingame if you like.
One would be using a super high picmip. Makes the encoder not have to work as hard to update the image.
You could compare it too rendering a cartoon instead of a pixar movie (in terms of power).


Quality should be higher with those settings while using your cpu more and more effeciantly for rendering purposes. It will most likely lower your bandwidth usage aswell as it compresses your video more.

I was always under the impression that streaming would require a decent upload? But Mackie only has 640 kbit/s which is slightly lower than my shit UK internet (about 800 up)

Would I be able to stream old games OK with my AMD X2 7850? Or do you need a decent CPU whatever you're streaming?

will the stream be 24/7? or only your own games?

only my game yes, but cant stream it anyways atm, lags too much :/
