I got two cheap 256GB SSDs (Crucial M4), now what annoys me the most is that A) They are not good SSDs B) Because of A, it feels ridiculous and extremely unnecessary to have two of them.

You're an idiot. The M4 is a good SSD. I doubt you would be able to notice a difference with a newer SSD outside of benchmarks.

My thoughts about this monkey business.

AMD doesn't have lightboost though. And some argue that frames are more stable with Nvidia, where FPS is erratic (high highs and low lows) with AMD (anecdotal, but crops up from time to time). I personally have an AMD card, but hope to try out lightboost sometime in the future seeing as its getting quite alot of positive responses.

frame latencies on a single gpu are identival between amd and nvidia. In crossfire it is a different story... Depending on the game it can be really good, or it can be really bad.

6xx SLI is better than 7XXX crossfire. Scales better and less frame lag.

Also I don't know why you would say a 670 has the same performance as two 680s. It obviously doesn't, I assume that you mean that anything over 60 fps is a waste.

Of course if you have a 120hz monitor and prefer high fps over resolution, you can see where SLI would be useful.

Also, AMD isn't "better" than NVIDIA, it's cheaper performance per dollar, and that's completely dependent on where you are. In my country when I was looking around to buy cards, the GTX660 was $270 vs $330 for a 7850.

Of course the situation has changed, but a card isn't better than another if the performance is still good, it's the price that is the deciding factor.

ps. Anyone from SA reads this, wootware is selling a 7870 Tahiti LE with 2 games for R2600. Go get it!

The 670 can be overclocked to the same gains a 680 offers, which is minimal. The difference might be 3 - 5 FPS. AMD is better than Nvidia when it comes to gaming due to their driver support specifically for games. Nvidia is better all around, especially for video editing thanks to cuda cores, a feature not found on AMD cards. I prefer Nvidia myself, but there is no sense is paying for differences you won't notice. That, to me, is "virtually the same performance."

Oh I see you meant 670's sli'd rather than 680 sli, my bad.

Can we see the video you made using cuda cores, or are you just repeating what you read elsewhere?

If so, can I see your source, or personal experience with the CUDA CORES.

Unfortunately SA is a black hole of hardware specials. We have to take what we can get. Anyway, I have SLI GTX660's. Performance is fantastic, so it should last me a few years

Hm... I'd be wary that your setup is a tad overkill for that sort of resolution though. I'm not entirely sure whether that's a 120hz capable monitor either. However if its for future-proofing (kinda oxymoron term :P) then its probably justifiable, especially when games like crysis 3 and likely metro 2034 are eating through current gfx cards.

If you thought Crysis 3 and Metro 2033 was bad, Battlefield 4 will melt a quad-SLI GTX 680 setup.

No. What you have is fine.

Check the amps on the psu, might not be good enough. Can't stress how good a good gpu is for sli and ocing.

Also, don't get 16 gigs of ram; it is assinine and I have never once gone over 8 gigs, and that was running skyrim at 1920 x 1080 with 16x aa, and every high res mod possible.
