so.. I haven't really played much QL in the past ~year but now, when I want to play practice match against a bot, I get "disconnected from server" error and can't join the game. On the other hand I can normally join a public ffa game.. wtf?

try changing a map in start practice match settings. after one of the maps loads you'll be able to start a practice match normally. sounds insane but if I understood you correctly I had the same thing and my solution worked.

Ok, wow.. thanks, it actually works. But for some reason Toxicity still gives this error

edit: oh well.. toxicity.pk3 doesn't even seem to be in the baseq3 folder.. funny (joining a public match with the map forced it to dowload it so all is well in the end)

Don't bother. Bots can't change weapon when empty for weapon with lesser priority. For example Uriel after firing all rockets will run with empty RL instead of change it for anything he gots.

That's why you should always play Xaero

rail ammo is less common on maps. he'd shoot 10 rails and run without weapon.

Or funnier, he'd try to rail you in lg battle :o

He'd shoot you 10 rails and kill you 5 times :)

no, bots need to be UNfixed, since they didn't work that way in q3, and in cpma they were even smarter than many players;
The reason they have been dumbed is that, of course, for every online game to have offline bot is bad;
Nowadays, we have the technology to create AI that makes bots acts in realistic way, to the point it could even be difficult to distinguish them from real players; really, these kind of things were doable 10 years ago.
We will never have decent bots, deal with it.

Yeah, I know. I just like to fire up some mindless practice when I want to unwind for a short while. I mix it up with CPM sometimes.. it's a 10+ years old habit :)

Corrosion for TDM? Don't make me laugh.

Trinity is ok in 2v2, it was also in 4v4 competition pools back in the day and is a popular tier 3 public map. I wouldn't protest from making it green.

Just played corrosion, it's an awesome map but hardly TDM, yesh.

As for trinity, you might not protest, others would though :D
