...what would be your dreamteam?

I don't know what is the optimal teamsize for competitive Attack & Defend, since there is no such thing, but let's run with 4 now.

What are those abilities that can be used in A&D, and if there was a $100,000 A&D LAN tomorrow what lineup could possibly rise to the top?

My dreamteam would be:

stermy

H41

winz

aKm

I personally had the chance to play against aKm back in a while in the A&D sampler on Courtyard. He totally crushed everyone, and H41's CA experience would come in handy in the CA-style CTF gametype. I generally think stermy and winz would be top players in anything they invested time in.

Moreover, the team cohesion would be outstanding. stermy and H41 are brothers, winz and aKm are brothers. Stermy, winz and aKm play together in one team in Shootmania.

Is there any lineup that could stop them?

They are obviously good players, but I can't imagine them actually sitting down practice A&D. They have enough dignity to stay far away from Shootmania, plus they are not the experimenting kind. Cooller and Evil barely even played CA, 421 is the only one with more than 200 games, and out of the four, only pavel tried A&D. He played 2 games, and only finished 1.

Meanwhile, the 4 players I mentioned played tons of CA and 26 A&D matches altogether (20 of them played by aKm though), which is 13 times more than the Russian Four.

I think A&D could benefit from NTF(not team fortress) style player classes. Basically they made 4 different classes you can pick from that all have their own set of weapons, maximum armor, weaponset, movement speed. IIRC the classes were tank (slow, shaft and rockets, high armor), scout (really light armor, fastest, only nades and shotgun), sniper (railgun, semi armor, semi speed) and soldier (same as sniper but with more close distance weapons). Something along these lines. Maybe let scouts have PQL movement and tanks only regular one. Would make interesting plays.

Oh, I've been fantasizing about classes in QL for a long time. A gametype like that would really own. Then you could make a team of like

tox as tank,

Arcaon as scout,

k1llsen as sniper,

Q50 as soldier, for example.

i think the best way to implement classes in QL is utilizing runes the way that they don't vanish on death, would actually make rune maps competitively playable

This. I like runes but I find it very frustrating that on those maps you don't have a chance without a rune, and when you spawn mid, you have to go back to your base to pick one up.

that is how ctf and a&d should be played in ql. It is more defensive than offensive, with caps being made by someone pacmaning through the map then doing a less than 10 seconds run.

that is why the ultimate team has to have linkin and spartie on it, plus someone with 90% rail (stermy) and cooller (why not)
