if you wanna go pro in duel you need pro account, so yeah go for it. I suffer from my principles so I won't support id software until they do something good for ql with my 50 euros I've spent so far.

I had pro for a year(before you could pay 1 month at the time), but i found myself using "start match" rarely. Used premium servers alot though. So thinking of getting prem.

premium should be enough unless you insist on having the control over a server and/or invite people regularly (for example clan games)

I kinda like the feel of QL, although it's not much different from cpma. Osp is a superior game to ql.

OSP is terrible. If you going to play quake play cpma atleast.

It's so irritating seeing all these younger people think that OSP is the greatest, I played OSP the entire time from when it was adopted after babbages until it lost support and we changed to CPMA. It was buggy, unstable, required a massive amount of knowledge and didn't have a lot of features that we now take for granted (which were introduced in CPMA not OSP).

It's also basically a instant hit fest with overpowered rail, shotgun and mg.

The only thing I would say was superior was the spawn system, and some aspects of the unreliable crappy movement. (like provided you were playing on a dedicated lan server and your pc got 120fps.)

Fuck man, I remember like EVERY SERVER I joined I needed to callvote q3dm6 so I could check bridge to rail to see where I could jump from and how far I could jump.

you forgot the worst part of osp, the part that ALL osp supporters seem to have forgotten (and was one of the main reasons for the switch in the first place): the netcode difference was HUGE

in osp a 50 ping player was at a big disadvantage against someone who had 20 (or even 30) ping, especially with hitscan weps. the switch to cpma totally destroyed this advantage and made the field even. (kinda like qlive is now oh snap.)

Haha yes, I think everyone is aware of that though. Back then I was either playing with 170 ping or on lan, so the crap netcode didn't make that much of a difference to me, but even on lan the inbuilt lg lag made it only usable when people were going up jump pads.

you would be surprised of the amount of people who actually remember it, I don't fault the ones who only played osp and skipped cpma though.

I even met some retards on irc who claimed osp had better netcode then cpma lol
