Yeah I was teetering between the q3 logo and q1. The q1 logo seems more classic and timeless to me, and can kind of be used generically to sum up all the quakes. The reward icons are super cool too, I definitely considered them. Might be something to add later. Off to a good start though, haha.

Yeah, the Quake 1 logo is more timeless. Especially considering there is a good chance that if they renew the franchise, it will simply be called 'Quake' again (following the recent trend with remakes).

This is something I could consider. Once it's assured that I will never need to work for someone else again.

I work from home now, but that's only a recent change because I moved to the Northwest. I was in Phoenix before, and the tattoos were never a problem in the office. If really big execs ever came, I'd just wear a long sleeve shirt.

You know I didn't really pay too much attention to the time. I think it took between 90 minutes and 2 hours. It was done by Lisa Orth, and she's a 1 woman shop by appointment only. She has a long history up here of graphic design, tattooing, and music. She charges $140/hr, but she cut me a deal and only charged $150. Probably cause we were all laid back, it was a Sunday afternoon, and she wasn't doing anything else. I tipped 20%, so it was $180 all said and done.

i did not mean to insinuate that you were cut off from social life. it seems strange to to me that you'd want to keep a quake logo on your arm for the better half of your life. after all, you are a walking ad for id software, and do you really know who you are supporting indirectly with it...

you know, when your passionate about something and you also like tattoo's- a reasonalble thing to do would be to get it tattooed on you.
I have a quake tattoo behind my ear, and i know even if in 20 years time and quake's not around, the tattoo symbolysis the passion i had for the game at the time i got the tattoo.

i'm planning on getting a tattoo (unsure of design) that has integrated into it the names of everyone i care about/have cared about (i.e. have passed away). it's not to show people that i care enough to get their names on my skin, it's for me to be able to look and realize who and what is/was important to me. when i get old i'll be able to look back and remember perfectly what i cared about and why, that makes it worth it to me.

define what u mean by melee combat. a bare knuckles fight is like nothing to be honest, you certainly wont die while smashing some prick in the pub... a few day in the hospital at the top.
actually when tatoos been made in a much painful way and people was fighting with swords and axes, someone who didnt had a clear area on his skin was kind of a threat i imagine...
