i was unable to find a good place on the net (I suck at keywords) where I could get some side by side comparisons on AAA batteries re their life in real life applications.

I wanted the best (but with a sensible life/price ratio) and read the Energizer Lithium Ultimate were such, but I wanted to know how much better as they were quite pricey around £3.50 for two!

So to test I run them Vs a Duracell Ultra which is whatmany would buy from all those cool adverts they burned into society in the 80's/90's.

The Energizer Lithium gave me 58 hours of continued use.
(2xAAA)

The Duracell Ultra Power gave me 38 hours of continued use. (2xAAA)

For me it was important to change the battery in the device as little possible. But I guess for most of you this is not such a problem.

The reality is, I paid £4.50 for a pack of 4 Duracell, but it was buy one get one free. So I actually had 8 duracells.

Which gave me a combined 152 hours of power for £4.50 with 4 changes.

To obtain the same time with Energizer Lithium Ultimate you would need to buy 3 packets which would cost £10.50, but you would get get 174 hours with only 3 changes.

I hope this helps put things into perspective for others when considering batteries.
