Did a few quick searches, apparently it's enough to kill the process, hunt down any instances of the file in the registry then delete the file.

Someone mentioned this can be coming from something called xtray.exe, might want to look for that as well.

Get some good antivir too, like nod32.

Use Killbox to delete this shit if windows blocks by file use.

i tried em all, tried deleting xtray/temp/stdrt and all the instances also from register, it didn't work . I can't find regsrv.exe from my system referred in those tutorials though

Have you tried from safe mode or even the command prompt of the installer?

Check your autorun and start-up processes (CCleaner should do), maybe you can at least stop it from running if not removing it permanently.

Try removing regw2.exe from the system32 dir and registry, looks like it's responsible for re-enabling this piece of shit.

Don't forget to delete your windows restore cache (turn off protection from all drives and reboot, you can turn it back on after that).

Having lukrek's image works as a 'fun' test, it sort of has taught me three things:

- reveals n00bs and newfags

I had that on my lappy a few months ago, removed it with malwarebytes. Its created by a rootkit so u gotta kill the source.
