Pretty much my thinking. I think the person that did the video is not very skilled, and is wishfully seeing a cheat where there is none.

Yeah. It's made pretty obvious by his reactions to Guismo coming from behind corners, he's clearly caught off guard several times. The few "hmm..." moments scattered throughout can easily be explained by coincidence, him stopping to get his bearings (like at ~4:00 where he was waiting for Guismo to make a move and finally decided to take a risk by dropping down to ya) or just plain good decision making and solid instincts.

Whoever banned the guy based on this demo should seriously consider if his knowledge is sufficient to make such calls in the first place.

Ok, I said it like a 500 times already, but I'll repeat it here once again. Guys, aerowalk is the worst map on wich you can tell if someone cheats or not. If you want to make sure if someone is a cheater don't base on aerowalk demos! When I'm analyzing my own hub demos, sometimes I'm like "wtf? it really looks like a wh", because that's right! Aerowalk is a specific map, you can hear there almost everything. While you are playing for 95% of match you know excactly when your opponent is. It's nothing unnormal for experienced, high skilled player... It's so easy to predict opponent on this map. No one can judge someone a cheater basing on aerowalk demos.

I don't know if bukster is cheating or not... I even don't really care, but I won't judge him basing on demo from this map.

Anyways I don't see any wallhack in this demo, really.

i think its rather strange that u are able to prepare every angle with shaft and rail perfectly without having any vision of your enemy, and the way u glare at him through walls sometimes is also a bit shady.

Just because someone doesn't make obvious moves/mistake doesn't mean he's not cheating. I played so many cheaters in cs and just by watching their demos most people couldn't tell whether they were walling or not.

Heres what I see in the bukster video:

00:13 : Makes sure the opponent is convinced that he is not about to take the teleport, listens for rockets incoming. Takes the chance, and ports. He is in luck, opponent did not fire another rocket.

00:28 : Not a "follow rocket through wall" move. Try learning how to strafe around corners while dodging. You'll do the exact same thing if you happen to have a rocket flying towards you. This time around the guy happened to aim at the rocket.

01:21 : It's a narrow staircase with only a small possibility of not aiming close to or on the enemy 'through' the wall. Seriously, who wrote that shit?

02:01 : He's moving his aiming reticule towards the doorway - He aims at the enemy 'through' the wall because he EXPECTED HIM to come to that doorway. This is getting ridiculous.

02:37 : He LISTENS to the sound of the spawnsite combined with his (at least basic) knowledge of the spawnsystem and HEADPHONES. Atrocity has started to increase dramatically.

02:48 : He can hear the opponents railgun. Heapdhones make this alot easier. You should try it. Coupled with the fact that he probably also knows hub pretty goddamn well, he knows where to aim to only have to move the mouse slightly when having strafed out from his top doorway. Paranoia reached delirious amounts at this point.

03:18 : Suspicious prediction my fucking ass - opponent wants a gun that packs punch after having respawned, so goes for railgun instead of opting for the (usually much too) obvious RL after getting out of teleport. Seriously?!?

03:56 : He is not watching opponent stand still. He is LISTENING to the opponent SUPPOSEDLY standing still, however he is hearing his railgun, thus is cautious. I would do the same. Come on...

04:10 : Same as the previous. Get a fucking grip.

04:14 : The sound of the rocket came towards his left ear, thus the rocket was to be expected there and in a split second maneuver that newbies like the 'hacker' reporter - and id employee who subsequently banned bukster - would never even think of: MOVED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE INCOMING ROCKET. Christ this is embarrassing for the quake community.

04:48 : I fire my lg at edges of walls more than frequently, in an attempt to catch the opponent in the process of moving towards his itinerary. It's called prediction. You know, you think 'hey, the guy must be going this way, I'll try and keep constant fire so my reactions and reflexes are only limited to my mouse movement, rather than my mouse clicking. I'm wondering whether murder of the player who reported this stuff should be legalized in cases such as these at this point.

04:55 : Sound. Again.

05:23 : Turn up volume once more. Then listen. Then couple the sound with the prediction this guy makes that he might just be at the RA since it is going to be up soon, and he is not left of doorway, as he was railed and was on his way to the right; Alas: HE MUST BE AT RA!

06:04 : He keeps aim steadily aimed towards the right edge of stairs, again minimizing his margin of necessary movement if his prediction is correct that he is not completely exposed in the left side of the stairs, but at the right, considering he is using grenades. Keep 'em coming, I can shoot this shit down any minute.

06:17 : Where would you go if you got railed at the position where the opponent was just then? It's 50/50. Either you gamble and stay to see if you can rail opponent down before he does, or run like a madman through the doorway. Personally, in that situation, I would've done the same as the opponent. Thus: He predicted that he would be fleeing the open exposed area, thus aimed towards the door, again just like the before-mentioned situations.

07:03 : Sound. The guy is jumping heavily from left to right. Assumption? Well: HE MUST BE GOING FOR RL; I WILL CORRECT MY AIM TOWARDS THAT AREA. Map knowledge shows that he knows approximately how fast the guy gets from mh at the strafe jump speed acquirable, to the rl, thus moved his aim to follow the sound. Something even pro's do.

08:14 : Sound came from bottom right. Prediction is: point reticule and fire immediately in hope of hitting.

08:25 : Sound. Who would take the teleport and risk getting shafted into atoms? He LISTENS.

By now this is pretty long, but I'm gonna finish, just for the hell of it.

09:19 : He sees and hears the opponent walk down stairs towards mega area. He fires mg per reflex in hopes of him having gotten there already after he spawned. This is even more of a nobrainer.

09:22 : Seriously? He aims at the fucking LG because HE WANTS IT TO DEFEND HIMSELF.. The enemy happened to be exactly at the point where the LG was when he aimed at it at that spot he was coming from. Come the fuck on.

09:38 : Predicts entry point, hears enemy LG sound coming closer, gets ready to fire any split second at this point, then fires and succeeds in the battle.

To top all of this bullshit off, firstly, as any respectable quaker would think, I firmly believe that the employees taking care of these reports are fucking douchebags with no actual experience or knowledge of (the) game mechanics, nor any experience in actual FPS gameplay. Prediction is key, sound is key, gambling is key. No one that reports a demo such as this has any grasp of what the game is about.
Furthermore, I believe Ordos was the guy who banned you - do correct me if I'm wrong here - But if it is, that guy is even more so a complete cunt for greenlighting the ban.

Take a peek at the CSI:QL videos and you'll have rock solid proof to back all of your otherwise scum sucking, quack job accusations up.

the only thing you really have to pay attention to in this video is how he prepares every attack with first pinpointing enemies exact position and then running around corners firing almost instantaniously, to determinate that this guy is in fact, cheating.



1:10: pinpointing exactly where the enemy is and perfectly times a rocket at the position he landed.

1:45: first dodges left the wall, but almost before he can visually see him drop hes starting to move towards the right.

2:10: his 3rd, is it random spam or does he react to player model jumping behind the wall? theres absolutely no logical explonation to why he would heighten his crosshair, except for maybe a mouse glitch, or he simply reacts to player models movement behind the wall.

2:29: why would he wait so long to fire the rocket? granted, its supposed tp be a spam rocket, but that only makes it more suspicious. from the looks of it, getting the health bubble at the bottom is his main focus, still hes not spamming, but placing that rocket close to perfectly.

when hes taking the fight, on his last rocket he repositions his aim as soon as enemy is starting to move forwards. might be clever spam, but so shady things makes me doubt it.


2:40: as soon as enemy is closer to the edge, he stops moving and then when enemy is moving away from the edge, he starts moving.

2:48: again, positioning his crosshair in the exact right angle before having any visibility of his enemy. same thing at 2:59 and 3:17 when his enemy is behind the wall.

3:32: dodges into the wall on his left and before having vision of his opponent moves to the right to prepare the shot.

3:50: i cant think of any reason to why we would be staring directly into a wall, except keeping vision of his enemy. whats going on after that is to me, very self-explanatory.

4:22: if you compare similar situations, you will see he plays each one differently, and each one to the best his aim allows him to.

4:42: once again, before having vision of his enemy he starts preparing his crosshair to hit as good as his aim allows him to. rewatch this scene and you will notice that he starts to to prepare his aim and movement before he can actually see his opponent, and as so many times before: hits as good as his aim allows him to.

4:50: again, prepares to his movement-aim in the perfect angle before having vision of his opponent, something that i never have seen anyone do if they dont have clear visibility on their enemy.

5:15: that rail doesnt sit right with me. the complete confidece that hes gonna hit it, and the little mouse movement to a reaction rail is simply improbable. his mouse movement looks a lot more like a rail you would fire when having consitant visibility of your enemy.

5:21: as so many times before, he sets up his crosshair in a perfect angle before having any visibility of his enemy. also: was he able to start firing so much faster than his opponent because of his switch, or because he was completely aware of his enemies exact position?

5:36: the way hes able to predict his opponents drop isnt probable. what gave him away, the weapon switch? :D

6:09: as so many times before in this demo is he able to prepare his shot, in both movement and aim, before having any vision of his enemy.

6:48: even with a good idea of what your opponent is going to do, doing a quick strafe to the right to hit a perfect rocket like that doesnt seem probable to me. judging by his aiming and movement reaction, he was completely aware of how that rocket was going to hit, even before a human would be able to (already preparing for the next shot, even tho he couldnt possible have time to do such a reaction when hes unable to see his opponents movement before he fired.)

7:28: the last rocket can only be explained as spam, and with his flawless record of preparing shots when he has no visibility of his opponent, i would say hes at the same level as Cypher vs dahang on dm6 pillars.

8:13: once again he puts his crosshair in perfect angle for hitting the enemy, only judging by sounds. by now he has exceeded cypher and is now in a class of his own.

8:25: now even without the enemy making sounds hes able to pinpoint the exact position of his target, again and again and again...

8:46: after he picks up YA he makes a quick circle jump away from the location when seeing that his opponent is making preparing to rail it. (im not gonna re-watch the game again, but im fairly certain he has never made this move before.)

8:54: when enemy is jumping down from the rail platform, is he aiming to attack him because he thinks hes jumping forward, or did he position his aim to hit... air? with his flawless record, i'd say hes aiming to hit enemy whos jumping backwards.

9:20: this goes back to my earlier suspicions: whenever enemy is moving up the stairs, hes able to prepare himself in both aim and movement so that he will attack and aim at enemy from the best possible angle. (note: each time his opponent has moved on a different angle, still every time he has been able to pinpoint the exact angle of enemies attack.)

9:35: again in this stair case, hes able to angle his attack perfectly to his enemies whereabout.

9:52: again, as so incredible many times before: hes able to angle his attack perfectly, to enemies position.

... why not

id be suprised if you had over 1300 duel elo with that post.

im not saying that each move cant be done legitimately, but in almost every attack he makes, he prepares his aim and movement to opponents movement as if he had vision before being able to see him.

to be as perceptive as he is at time, and then in other situations completely unaware of everything doesnt feel right. really taking into account the details of his actions, i cant make any other realisation.

btw, yer wrong about elo, not that it should matter :I to be objective in a matter like this is utterly important. i cant say im completely unbiased myself, i know who guismo12 is before i watched this video, but as hes not the player in question: it doesnt affect my judgement.

I'd actually love to hear the rationale of the id guy who watched this demo, said "wow this is pretty obvious cheating, hurr hurr i'm so perceptive and handsome" to himself and then pulled the trigger.

I can only think of two possibilities:

1) He's an even bigger noob than me. That, being an impressive lifetime achievement in on itself, would also mean he's not qualified to even tie the shoes of a mediocre administrator, much less have the power to pass judgement on and permanently ban people.

2) He doesn't give a fuck and does his "job" half-assed, which is even worse.

for example for every 1000 losses.... they will have 500 quits. This is for most players.

I'm actually waaaaaaay below the avg ratios of losses to quits because i have 2250 losses. so on avg most people who have played the same amount of games as me would have over 1200 quits. I have less then 600. I quit less then most people that play quake?

I know that some people have 20 - there was someone on ESR who had about 60. I'm not trying to convince you to do nothing (even though you couldn't do anything anyway), I'm just pointing out how bad your ideas are.

Free accounts are extremely easy to bypass, and the more annoying "tests" you put in the way, the more legit players you will lose at signup. Almost all of your ideas are trivial to bypass, and would only stop people who probably would have just quit after another month anyway.

At this point, it doesn't matter - the damage is done, and the game has pretty much bottomed out. The game should have been a regular commercial product, with a one-time fee to buy the game, and no subscriptions/microtransactions. A central server model is still fine, and would eliminate most (but not all) of the issues that you have with the game. It should also have been a real game, rather than just a web port of Q3.
