did i say anything about the graphics card? i don't think there is any problem with the specs of the laptop or any of the parts particularly, because i think they should run QL with 125fps and same goes for Toshiba. i'm just pointing out that the laptop he is recommending is performing like shit for a fellow esr user.

and i'm just recommending him to buy the toshiba out of the 3 models he is considering purely based on price/value because i don't think he is getting much more performance for more money spent on the others.

This card looks like has much bigger numbers. There is only a huge diference in Vertex/Pixel shaders. This one has 48 and the ATi has 480. But other speeds, the 520M wins. Then, the ATi is ranked 109 in the world, and the 520M is 174. wtf is this??

While both cards are DX11 and have all the video acceleration stuffz, the 520 is only good for web browsing even if it's NVIDIA (it would run QL fine).
The Radeon 6630M is a little bit faster, it will run games in low-mid detail, just don't expect fluid gaming performance and it won't disapoint you.

So unless you don't spend like 1500€ on a laptop, all new post 2009 games go at shitty framerates over mid level of detail? the fuck..

Yes, even the Lenovo laptop I linked for you is much faster (if you can find one with the 144 cores in the GPU), but you don't need 1500€ for a gaming laptop.

well this is what I found to be the best on paper for that kind of money, but I only spent like 10mins googleing tbh.
So many factors here, like the quality of the display, keyboard, or how noisy it is under load and how long the battery would last, etc...

You have to try it out yourself and only keep it if it's worth the money imo.

I purchased the ultimate macbook air 11" about 2 months ago. It is honestly the best electronic device I have ever owned. The new models are also extremely fast, however you can forget playing AAA games. Games I have tried and play well are:

Quake 3 (120fps)
Portal (About 60fps)
Civ 5 on lowest settings (60fps)
Minecraft (It runs ok, but the fan goes crazy, very inefficient engine)

If you want a work device though you cant go wrong. Instant on/off. Everything loads extremely fast, the actual laptop is light, easy to move around, screen is good quality, keyboard is fantastic, etc.

The Radeon on that one is not as powerful, and has 5gb, plus it's a 480m i5 and not a 2410 (no idea if there is a huge difference). Price difference is 50€, and at least I don't get that gay purple color on the 740€ one... (why the hell ti says "black" when it has a touch of purple?"

Looks pretty solid, and the hardware is way better compared to the 740€ Sony, and Asus isn't a cheap brand.

Sony is like Dell to me, even if they are not what they used to be when they paid more attention to quality instead of quantity they are still a brand I can trust.

I think Toshiba is going on very nicely again, there were some times in the 90's when they made 1st quality laptops, and in the last few years they are getting very good again, so I wouldn't say they are medicore.

Asus is good, but it all comes down to the specific model and not the brand. Did they choose the right keyboard, or the right display? How much is the inputlag of the display and how noisy is it? Can you see the screen in daylight?
You must try the product in question, no other way around imo.

That Asus model has Glare HD LED display technology, so there shouldn't be problems during daytime.
