Which raises a question, what would be a fitting time span for a ban for cheaters? I mean if they want to stand by their nickname so hard they could imo. The ridicule and non-trusting of the community paired with a 'tainted' name would be punishment enough after the ban is lifted. Also this shows regret and remorse, better then the cheater simply getting a new nickname and cheating on (as there would be no moral obligations whatsoever to stop the cheating).

I don't know you, but I can easily tell you right now that your reputation is destroyed now for a very long time, you also deserve any sort of ban qlive, a league, a cup, whatever puts on you.

Although you could bypass any ip ban and just get a new account with a new name I will suggest that you do not enter any competition (or even pickup...) with this account because if someone finds out the newcomer who plays ok is you and reveals your identity, your reputation will even further diminish because then you will be labelled as a potential cheater who is back with a new name.

Maybe after a very long time ppl will slowly start to trust you again, dunno but you don't have any other choice.

If your older then 15, then I say you have a big problem in your life. Cheating in a computer game only means that the game means so much more then just having fun. Do you dream of being a PRO gamer or something? It takes talent, skills, motivation and training to become great in something, not cheats!

How did lithxiv and fragma get busted again? Oh right, it was because gienek noticed fragma's wallhack and reported it here. CSI:QL just stepped in because they had more demos with more blatant proof. If it wasn't for gienek, lithxiv and fragma would still be hacking 24/7.

Nobody stops you from being the next gienek and report some other cheaters, so that the community (including CSI:QL) can get them 100% busted.

Well, dor_ is still playing some matches. Get the demos from his opponents or teammates and see if he's hacking. You should probably even be able to get demos from his older matches, because he quite likely played against some people who would hand out their demos to you.

First, why are you assuming he dropped his moral standards? Maybe his standards (as in a rule or principle that is used as a basis for judgment, not something considered by an authority or by general consent as a basis of comparison) are different than yours. Everything we do is selfish, so I don't see why you're complaining about just that.

Q3 While good wasn't great like QW was, people have been waiting to switch to a new game for 7? years now d3... q4.... people just play QL cos there's nothing else to play rather then really loving the game.

Q4 is dead now because there are no more competitions there, not because its a bad game. The reason people are playing QL is because its the most supported Quake game in regards to LAN and online tournaments.

Fragma, i have known you a very long time and i am still speechless that you cheated. We have all suffered from the cheat epidemic and paranoia that has spread throughout Quake but for the life of me i still don't understand how your head can be turned such a distance to want to do it yourself. From playing together in the nations teams some years ago, to many pcw's versus, i just can't quite get how you ended up here.

I do appreciate the explanation on ts3 about it, so thanks for that. Its fair to accept that you lost the plot regarding cheating but even still, its really annoyed me that you used it in the first place but also to do so against fellow UK players and also 2 of the lads from EK, the team that we asked you to join just a few months ago, has really pissed me off.

Needless to say this whole experience has been a weird one, only a few months ago i wanted to see Zhu raped by a donkey and banned for life, ZeroQL was another disappointment simply because he's only partially owned up to what he did and that angered me even more and again i felt he also deserved some extreme punishment for hacking in the top tier whilst already having the ability to be there, and here i am with the same dilemma people in Metsu/2k and to a lesser extent the cellar dwellers in DP etc must have felt.

I'd have to stand by my already long established feelings on cheats, zero tolerance, so in that respect we'll never play quake again. Once the bad taste of this cluster-fuck of an episode has passed, maybe we'll be alright as far as online mates go, just sort your head out first.

One only needs to look at the way he reacted to me accusing him of cheating in one of the demos I've provided to see he didn't regret cheating at all.

Or maybe the deed only hits the offender in the face when really confronted with it, hearing the consequence ie. the uproar of the community as they realize they have been cheated, all players distancing themselfes etc.

Example: if you get away with finding a suitcase full of money, you might only see the benifits and neglect the consequence....once you get caught you realize your wrongs and suddenly you cannot understand how you could act this way as now you (have to) look at the full picture
