If they have been using the same email for years then i can understand why they do not want to change.

the truth is, a lot of everyday people are nubs when it comes to the internet and standards, they can barely operate a computer, and things like a less than perfect website or a 3rd party email address will often not cross their mind so is not as relevant as you might think cos you need to think of their basis of comparison, not yours.

At the same time, it sounds slack and is usually a precedent for other bad things. I bet you don't have any decent google SEO in place either?

The website is handled by the head office.. they all have domain emails addresses.. Just not anyone in the UK.. Anyway I put my foot down and it should be sorted by the end of the day.

It was already bad when you joined, they might have a tendency to do it wrong. If they dont selfanalyze or listen to advice it will only spiral downward or be stuck in a stalemate without growth.

I just left company for similar reasons. I knew i will not find a new job (nobody does here nowadays, I don't even know a single happy person here anyway except the politicians and the evil mediafucks, not to mention work or any kind of future), but I was fed up 20x being a slave who gets punished for thinking.
First, while they continuously fucked and violated my life and my every human rights you can come up with (for fun), I worked like if I would work for my own company for years.
1 or 2 hours of overwork for every day was absolutely normal, but I also worked on every second or third weekends 2x12-14 hours (Saturday and Sunday) for absolutely free. Never got any money for overwork, and they never raised my salary (which was the minimum one could get).
When the boss stopped paying the cleaning guys, I also started cleaning up the whole office because who wants to work in a shithole. When he stopped paying the bills for the heating (since he had a private heater in his room), I bought my own little heater from home, since it was 0 Celsius(!!) in winter times. I bought cleaning stuffz, plants, computer parts, and fuckknows what for free, I was doing the work of 3,4,5 ppl depending on the given situation and he was demanding more whenever he could.
He only gave me 20 days/year instead of my 26 days, and I had to save 5 for xmas - want it or not, so I had 15 days/years.. but I had only 3 in the first two years, and he never paid me for that as well.
This list could go for several pages (this is no fucking joke, if I would write down all the shit they did to me, this would be a book!), but I kept working just because one should value whatever job he got, and I always thought that many is starving and lying on the ground in Africa, so I'm doing pretty good compared to them.
But the boss was just the enemy all the time, he was the enemy of his company, and the enemy of my work. I quit when he turned into my personal enemy ,and started planning when should I take out my 15 days, and what I should and shouldn't do in my free time.

The only reason I haven't quit is because I have it very easy here, I work between 24-40 hours so I basically come and go as I want. I can browse the internet all the time and I'm on my own 70% of my working hours.

Other parts of my life were also very difficult in the last 10 years, and - from my point of view - I just met every fucking evil liar liferuiner coward "getawaywitheverything" asshole we have in town, so all the shit together just turned into a horrible hell, and quitting from there meant one less stream of fire into my face.
I have about 6-7 months before I go homless if I won't find a job, but I had no other option, it was selfdefense:(

My advise is to keep it up there until you have a better option, it sounds pretty easy;)

Well, from sales to system-administration, cleaning, ordering ..whatever:) (the guy who took the money for being a sysop in every month, asked me questions like how was I able to lock the default XP screensaver with a password, so you may get the picture:D, btw the boss loved him - for my doing - and gave him about twice as much money than me for playing or watching movies for 60-70% of his worktime, gg)

Yea, thanks for the nice words... its always getting worse around here, this is our tradition. If I find a new job it will be 10 times worse than this was for sure.
But I don't really care about money and shit like that, I love girls, games and tech stuffz and I play a lot with the kid nowadays, which are all quality time well spent.
The only thing what is hard to live with is my health is really shit in the last few years, with lot of pain and misery, hope this hell ends really soon.

Don't worry about me, I had awesome times in my life - most only can dream of, so I will take whatever comes now:)

Nah, don't worry about me, really, even if it wasn't my fault that my life went bad from good, 99% of the feedback about my work was absolutely good and positive so perhaps I did well. I also had way much worse times when I was a kid and I'm still here, I never give up, I never surrender;)

Besides that: Imo you should only move to an other country when you are going "upwards" or when you are needed there, so when you can give something back as a return for the hospitality of people who help you out. Going anywhere just to be a problem is something I would never do.
