It'll definitely be easier to read through these forums based off the volume alone, although we won't be able to comment on topics that we can't comment on in the open forums. The subscriber forums are very much an experiment; we have no particular plan for the intent for the forum, and we're interested in seeing what comes out of them. My hope is that it'll be easier to arrange matches on premium servers or less played arenas here, than in the normal general discussion (for example the FreezeTag Friday thread)

forum for id software admins to make us feel good by PRETENDING they actually give a shit what we have to say. Yeah, sure they'll read it. Furthermore, sure they'll implement any of it... yea... dream on...

I guess the main idea is to give casual players (those who don't use irc) a place where they can form a community. Organizing a weekly freezetag game for forum members is not a bad idea for example. Might drive some people to renew their subscriptions..
Other than that it wont have much value.
