Schedule: Passed

The 79th ZOTAC QL Duel Cup is taking place Sunday 17th of April. Last week,

strenx finally reached his 25th victory and remains the undoubted leader on the Hall of Fame.

Note that ZOTAC just released a new website. The brackets won't be displayed as a grid anymore, ~~the hall of fame was fixed~~, the links for stream appear on front page as well as a countdown. Also, all the archives from previous cups aren't available anymore, including brackets.

Nothing has been announced yet regarding a new maplist though.

Yeah at first I thought it was just a different way of displaying the matches. But this system raises the problem of seeding... They say that well-known participants won't face each other too early but I'll wait to see how they implement it.

what is exactly that pool system?

edit (found it):

The ZOTAC Quake Live Cup is using a pool-system to determinate who has to play against who. This means that every participant gets drawn an opponent at the beginning. The first player who beats his first round opponent has to play against the second who was able to beat his first round opponent. So it is guaranteed that you can play round by round without long idle times. Well-known players might be seeded by the referees before the tournament starts to ensure that these players will not eliminate each other in the the early stages of the tournament.

Imo a few flames here and there don't hurt anyone and shouldn't be punished as they are entertaining. Something like "say gg noob" is ok but stuff like "I'm going to kill you" or "gg hitler" or speaking in a different language (hi@strenx and russian fags) is really inappropriate.
Btw. I don't understand why some people always need a special treatment and can't watch the stream. I remember the zotac were cypher and spart1e had to play on a public server and instead of gtfo some players on the server even made jokes (alphaomega) about the current situation.

Players+admin+streamers rest can fuck off -.-

I'm German myself and I know you're not flaming, still it's just rude to talk in languages others on the server, or other streams for that matter, don't understand and no you don't only talk German if there's only German guys on the server, that's just a lie, you even keep talking German to them if they reply in English.

Any chance of getting a N.A. equivalent of zotac? Can't imagine why id doesn't run their own $100 a week cups. They'd get more in return than what they spend. Especially if it was properly marketed, which would cost next to nothing, as they can market the events in their own QL system.

did u notice some weird lags during the weekends only? even with 30-40 ping sometimes i got hit with lagged nades i dont even hear/see and same goes for rockets etc not to mention serv browser works so slow it takes 10 mins to refresh
