Event: UGC

Today,

Alessandro "Stermy" Avallone announced the Ultimate Gaming Championship, a LAN party event that will be held from March 31st to April 3rd in

Lignano Sabbiadoro at the touristic resort Villaggio GeTur.

The event will welcome 1 000 gamers and features a prizes purse up to $30,000 for the following official tournaments:

- Quake Live - $7,000 (Details)
- StarCraft 2 - $7,000
- Call of Duty 4
- Pro Evolution Soccer 2011
- Super Street Fighters IV

Besides the official tournaments there will be community run tournaments as part of the BYOC event.

I thought the same. It's less than two months from now. Let's hope everything works fine.

Btw, this made me realize I'm getting older. There was a time where one week was as far as I could plan ahead. Now I'm swamped by ifs and buts to put this into my calendar :/

QuadV got whacked for all of our casters in the real life scenario over the past 18 months. Redeye and myself both work fulltime in other industries, Joe went to ESLTV fulltime, Deman moved house, A Spec is working a number of projects. That combined with a bit of a problem bringing through new casters limited the amount of events we could take on.
Lets hope for a better 2011, we're quoting on a couple of events upcoming.

Because I honestly don't consider those other 6 World Championships as "true World Championships", for me they are just nominal titles, not meaning anything. So yes, you are right, nominally I am 17 times World Champion, but I don't think I am fooling anyone when I say that I am only 11 times World Champion, because it's only those eleven titles that truly matter to me.

Hm even though this is very nice from stermy, I doubt he can be the main organizer and play in the quake tournament and do well in both at the same time. Since both require 100% dedication.

If there is a 2nd lan tournament a earlier announcment would be nice as I could plan to visit it. I know it is for italian gamers though some foreigners wouldn't hurt imo. Early spring in march is way better than vienna :P
