well, tbh i like starcraft aswell, i mean, it's a very good game, best str for competitive play, but still, don't be vedic-like pls, stop your fanboism, don't be blind, don't hate, things are not that simple.

if you leave quake for starcraft, then fine, that's your decision, nobody can force you to play quake; and like i said, starcraft is also a very good competitive game. but pls, don't go like "zomg quake is shit, dm is shit, vedic is my god, starcraft is 5 step ahead of quake, zomg you all noobs, zomg everyone's ugly & fat omg omg".

fwiw SC:BW was my first 'serious game' that I played for like 6 years. I'd keep playing QL if SC2 wasn't around, but now that it is, just 2 good to split my time : )

Yep, it's not perfect, but it's still GOOD. And about "the devs don't seem to care", well, it's more complicated than that, and tbh if they didn't care, we wouldn't even have an update with "new" maps, and the subcriptions would cost way more (i mean, premium is 24$/€ a year, which is still really ok, and pro is ok aswell, cuz you can ofc spawn your own serv etc etc, so...). Really, you can't expect anything but whine @ ESR, but the "real" situation is that QL is QUAKE and GOOD, and that some people are way too elitist, i mean, if you're looking for something perfect, then go in your bed and dream :).
And let's compare quakelive to... modern warfare 2 (CoD), well, quakelive > mw2 without any doubt, for competitive play. And it's basically the same with fps like L4D, TF2 etc, these games are only good for fun, but if you want something more serious with a strong community etc, then you go for quakelive, without any doubt possible.

I think that the main reason why you play sc2 is because it was basically your first love, and now you're going "back to basics", but not because quakelive is crap or anything :).
