i started getting drops about a year or two ago.. in q3 cpma and in quakelive.. they dont happen when i watch demos... anyone know what could be up?

not sure but I can say that my fps varies wildly from one game to the next. I can be getting 60fps one game, 125 the next, 80 after that... I've not changed anything in my cfg, qzconfig or repconfig, but still settings keep changing and things still aren't settled. I think it happened mostly after the last real update a few weeks back

edit: this is all for Quake Live btw, can't comment on cpm/other.

look at the tasks running on your computer, might have to do with other programs

To fis his Rapha used someone else's CFG as a base then redid all his personal settings.

quakelive aka 126541 possible reasons to get fps drops but you'll never find the one causing them on YOUR comp.

Your best bet is to delete everything and start over, imo.

Imo take for example noctis cfg and make your own binds etc or if you dont bind just do a /writeconfig.
From what i can se he has all the needed cmds.If that dosent work its not the cfgs fault i would guess.

im not using this pc to anything beside quake so its pretty clean
