Today

Cooller and

DaHanG received an invitation each to Kaspersky Quake Live Championship at DreamHack Summer 2010 19-22 June.

Statement from Dreamhack:

We are very pleased to welcome Cooller, one of the indisputable best Quake players ever, to Sweden and DreamHack this Summer. Joining him from the United States of America we are also very pleased to present DaHanG who is an American Quake-legend.

Participating Players

Dreamhack also announced the Kaspersky Achievement Award which is an award who will be handed out to the most entertaining player in the tournament.
The community will have a open poll to vote for the most enjoyable player to watch in game and that player will receive a special price from Kaspersky. More information will follow as the event draws closer.

YES, YOU FUCKING MORON. It's times more exciting. If I wanted to see smart plays I'd watch chess or starcraft, not a first person shooter. Furthermore there's almost never any aim with smart playing and positioning, there's SPAM. Cooller does have nice spam I'll tell you that, but he doesn't have the aim to +forward.

What I mean is that strenx is a bloody expert at hitting with higher latency where other players aim decreases dramatically, but on LAN all the other players hit crazy shit aswell and thats not good for strenx playstyle.

"legend" has definitely lost much of its punch over the past few years as the word has obediently served its master - Hype - through the ever multiplying online channels of publicity and marketing...

that said, this discussion could turn philosophical really fast; for example, "legendary" can result from some aspect of a player's skillset that significantly stands out -- Cypher's rox -- or from a specific event where a player rises far above his usual play and overcomes superior opponents for the day. Etc...

Suffice to say this:
In terms of "Quake"(nq/qw/q2/q3/cpma/q4/ql) DaHanG excelled to world class in q2(Purri qcon), q4(semis with Toxic&Foji) and now ql...so that's a pretty big quakey chunk he's taken a bite from!

Maybe "consistent top tier performer"? Close brushes with legendary, but just short.

When I think "legend", I usually think of highly successful players in a more historical sense. Players like Thresh, Lakerman, Fatality, Zero4 for example I would consider "legendary", among others. Players who are still active but have had a long history of success would be there as well like Cooller.

Well i think it's certain that, with his last crazy two years of achieving almost every n�1 places, rapha is a need to any lan tournament so i hope he competes in this one too.

About the styles.. has a spec.. when i'm watching a top player, and they are all amusing to watch since they are all high skilled.. the players that are really worth watching every games are those that can come up with something complete different during the game.

Even tho i'm kinda sick of this cooller frenzy.. i have to admit that he's one of them.. so it's not really that weird that so many love his gaming style.

I just wonder why almost all of them are living in eastern europe :<
