The Asus Winter 2010 is taking place today in

Moscow and players such as

cypher,

Cooller,

Jibo,

evil and

Amai joined this LAN event. The group stage is already over and the cup is now in its playoffs.

The playoffs are played on a Double Elimination brackets with best-of-3 matches.

Final rankings:

Hmm... "nice" is close to one of the meanings of the word (though obsolete and pretty much never used), but it's main meaning is "red", i.e. red armor. Btw, the word is actually "krasniy", not "krasna".

Road to Moscow will cost me 2500 rub. For 5th-8th place i will get 1500 rub and some lame mouse. I'm not interested in playing quake live for 1000 rub on internet in Moscow PC club. He was far away of being TOP player in Quake2 (tdm / duels / ctf). He couldnt even won a single USA 1v1 tournament. Beating PURRI at one map doesnt mean anything. I have won PURRI / Damiah plenty of times in Q2 and im not a TOP player.

It was obvious he wasn't putting in 100% effort - that seems to be his problem, not lack of skill. As an older player he finds it difficult to motivate himself to focus for a small Asus tournament.

Should not necessarily be different, because your point applies there just the same. But could be different, and now maybe even the more.

A win at Asus might have lulled him into a false confidence. What he just received was a reminder that, if he wants to win IEM, he has to fight for it and stay 100% focused.

So regarding next week this was likely the best thing to happen. Unless one expected him to be superman, which I don't.

Yeah it's funny how people keep calling new ql pros like bodzo dahang etc "24/7" nerds and say it's the only reason they are doing good. It's like players like cooller av3k cypher spart1e noctis etc never played q3/ql alot and are only good because of natural talent.

yea, if you want to compete at a top level you have to put in the necessary 6 months to a year of pure grinding...I don't care who the fuck you are, every single top 'pro' has played the game for 4+hours a day for many many months to years at some point in their life

A word on the streaming.

It may have been a bit choppy and laggy, since we didn't stream this, we just had them use our uncapped channel to stream themselves so more viewers could watch them.

Not much to be done about that tbh, using Livestream's services is not always as easy depending the location of the streamer.
