This. Dunno how anyone can expect the AGP to ever be accepted which such a kind of community interactions. Just to give some feedback, here's my impression of the AGP from what I've read here lately:

* The AGP is all about that Streetrunner guy who spams ESR major news and gets insulting and sarcastic in the comments.
* The AGP/That Streetrunner guy likes to make people think they're hiding some kind of super secret super awesomesauce plans which will soon be revealed to revolutionize the gaming world, but somehow they never deliver. Leaves the impression they're just making up stuff to get more hits on their website.
* "SOON" is the AGP's/That Streetrunner guy's most favorite word.
* Although The AGP/That Streetrunner guy have never actually delivered anything they promised, they're acting like THE BIG THING in gaming since day one.
* But hey, they give away AGP ranking points!!!11

That's surely not what I'd expect from a player association, and certainly there's a more than just a handful of people agreeing with me.

The thing is just: The way the AGP interacts with this community makes it look like you're the brain, face and fist of the AGP, that's why your name appears that often. I was out of line that one day but it happens. This is a bit out of context however, as those posts were mainly aimed at one person and in response to being directly flamed for a long period of time. There was alot of bs coming from some peeps and the post was regarding the Euro player election, an important step for the sport. Instead it was an AGP flame post, not aimed at me, but at the AGP. So, I started to really respond to things then.

I shouldn't have responded, however. You guys are sensitive to these small words. And putting up a collection of my all time negative comments will help in justifying a point, but doesn't show much truth in what I reply with. It's less than .1% of how I comment and what I write.

I'll stop replying now though. I realize I still act here like I am only part of this community and it doesn't help anything.

Perhaps you do not understand. I am interested in AGP, I am interested in what they do and I can see myself working with them in the future as I constantly arrange tournaments (however, currently only in QW).

But if an organization produces something that could be done a lot better I have to ask myself, is this because the organization is lazy? There are of course other possible reasons for the low quality, maybe he doesn't have the technical knowledge and in that case its fine. However, if he is lazy then I understandably want to avoid any possible association with AGP.

They didn't remove it completely. You could just do three consecutive strafe jumps, walk for a bit, then do it again. Was very wierd.

Just close your eyes and imagine what it would be like to jump through a Q3/QL map, and every time you tried to jump for the 3rd time, your speed dropped to ZERO. It was like hitting an invisible wall. It was really crazy shit.

Yes, I've already downloaded test builds provided by good sire above.
The physics in both builds are pretty interesting. It's not only about 3rd jump though.

anyway i think RL and LG were about equal back then as a weapon of choice, with the mice back then and the FPS - not to speak of the pings, ping 20 in LAN wasnt that unusual with the hardware and the netsettings everyone used at that time
