Hi there
I've started a thread in the ql forums BUT they've deleted it... bah. So I will create one here.

edit: OMG I AM BANNED IN THE QL FORUMS :>

I was looking forward to some improvements to the stair/step code because Syncerror said we will get improvements to the stair/step code this week (read it here)... but nothing happens

So I guess the stair/step code will remain at the current stage like the xerp/netcode...

Do you think there be improvements to the stair/step code someday?

CPMA had a setting in it which was similar to cg_smoothclient in baseq3. (some people say it was exactly the same) As soon as you set it to 1 your lg became 58% and your rail 83%.

No, QL has.... other.... netcode. Not as good as xerp, but better than normal.

well, xerp is just cg_smoothclients renamed and redone. The one people actually used and called "xerp" is the one that is ID's cg_smoothclients, which in fact exists in QL.

It is completely id code and was renamed in CPMA so that people's configs didn't automatically turn it on without knowing as it interacts with the CPMA netcode differently to the way it interacts with baseq3 netcode.

What is the purpose of this thread? You've already complained on the QL forums and received a response from Syncerror that it has been adressed and will be in the next update. So there wasn't an update this tuesday, wait till next week?

if you ride on the promised step code further, sync error wouldnt give update details to us anymore in the future.

it will be released, whats the point to rush things? if they do an update only for this, everybody will flame. please think 1 step ahead.

- Fixed smoothing issues in step code that caused some stair steps to be jittery.

sync error gives details to us, maybe its not much but read his lines carefully. sometimes an debate here can fix an issue.

for example we had here on esr an debate over fixing tdm modus. now the first step: - Changed Team Deathmatch spawn system to put you further away from your enemies.

It's only available on private servers though and it'll probably never be available on public because pauses on public is not good.
