So, does anyone have any updates on when will the glorious Quake Live be available for the most standards compliant, safest and fastest web browser around? I am not willing to endure the Insecurity Extreme, All Your Memory Is Belong To Us, or Hipster Stink browsers because of QL being the only thing that exists online and does not run in Chrome.

Let me get this straight. id keeps bragging about QL being very simple to access, just like a website. Well making me install another (inferior) browser just to play it defeats the whole damn concept!

You can always use firefox portable to just run ql, and do your other browsing stuff in whatever you want.

also i wonder if it'd work if you told chrome to tell the website a different browser version and name etc
the site seemingly just blocks because its not matched
in firefox' about:config you could edit that - chrome doesn't have about:config sadly - cba to find out what its called etc

I tried this and it worked. However, messing with it broke other stuff like gmail and random websites. So the only thing keeping me from playing in Chrome is some pointless user agent check, but the game runs without problems if I bypass it. Way to go id, suck Microsoft cock much?

suck google cock much? surely the "most standards compliant, safest and fastest web browser around" (btw grats to your job at google marketing) can run multiple profiles so you create one for surfing and one for playing quakelive

Chrome is my favorite browser, but it has thousands of bugs just because its new and its going through some major changes quite rapidly. So can't blame id software for not supporting it. In six months its usage will have overtaken Safari, then I guess it will be supported if Quakelive is still alive.
