Similarities occur rather frequently in popular music. They are only masked by different pitch, phrasing, speed and sound.

joe satriani vs coldplay is a much more fun case.. coldplay are even bitching back saying satriani's song "lacks originality" :> pretty funny coming from coldplay..

My main objection as I see it here is that coldplay try to argue that the songs arent similar. OBVIOUSLY the songs are similar, but should that warrant a lawsuit? I dont think so.

There is another song by a different band that sounds very similar as well. But im not sure whether it was released before or after Satrianis song. Would be ironic if it was released before :)

oasis is crap, thought that was common knowledge.

I personally think Oasis get progressively worse. Morning Glory was not bad at all but it was all downhill from there.

while I agree that it always got worse from there, there are still some decent tunes on each album
