Aside from the rare moments when 4chan threads actually do become a bit funny, I personally found that skull fucking thread to be quite awesome in my own sick little way. It does tend to be a rather boring and repetitive site.

I consume? I've been attending Quake and Doom LANs probably longer than you have had a computer. I legally own every single id game that has come out, aside from ETQW - I won't buy that. Yeah, that includes DOOM RPG for my cell. I've put my OWN money on the line for Quake tournaments. I bought $220 worth of copies of Q3 for a local LAN center in Texas, about $200 worth of copies of Q4 for a LAN center in Washington (this was when the game first came out, so I claim ignorance). I've attended Quakecon for about 5 years now (and even have a spiffy nVidia chair that my wife won to show for it). I've attended DFWFrag, CPL, and several large iGames events. I've been offered full sponsorship by TPI to play Quake 4 internationally and professionally. I've trained dozens of new players, and BOUGHT the game outright for most.

Right now, I probably have a good 10-20 copies Q3 (including Ultimate Quake) just for me. That's right, I just buy a new copy when my CD gets lost/damaged. I've uploaded a few dozen gigs of Quake movies to Google video and intend to do the same to other high-quality video services. I'm in the process of recording Nehahra through the Darkplaces engine (and even had LordHavoc help me out with a few bugfixes so I could do it) so I can upload it in 1080p with all the bells and whistles that Darkplaces has to offer. I've been promoting the game, both online and off for years. Even with my current distaste for the game, I *STILL* forwarded the players of teamliquid.net forum to the QL invite thread here. Despite already being banned once from QL, I still take part in playing the game on the account they DIDN'T ban, and offer my feedback as much as I can.

Self-loving? I go out of my way to help OTHERS, and work to make the game live. I take credit only for the work I've done, and expect it to be respected properly.

I actually spent more time playing than I did laying down the law on forums. I turned up more active on forum communities around the time that competition began to thin out.
