Hi,

I was wondering if any of you would compete in a q3 league for the mod Tribal CTF. Its quite an old mod which was first released somewhere in 2000 or maybe 2001. Please let me know if you would or wouldn't compete in such a tournament and why.

About Tribal CTF:

Tribal CTF is a totally new and fresh approach to the standard CTF concept. Its foremost characteristic is its 3-team CTF based gameplay mode. The classic Red and Blue teams have evolved into three unique tribes that each sport their own characteristics and unique looks. The graphical setting of Tribal 3-team CTF is of a beauty found in single player games. The tremendous atmosphere of environments, structures and terrain ensure a whole new CTF thrill.

The concept is interesting, maybe if you make a pickup channel for people to try this, you'd get more opinions.

I don't see why it has to be a direct mod. That kind of sucks, since it would be easier just to download a new map and use CQ3.

I agree that it would be easyer and better if you'd only had to download a new map. People always have found it hard to step over and try something new, biggest example for that is regular osp to vq3 osp.

Anyway, the mod Tribel CTF hasn't been played alot back then, maybe a missed chance, its quite a nice mod.

well, with regular osp i mean the stand alone mod osp and vq3 osp is the integrated vanillaq3 osp in the cpma mod.

- OSP and CPMA are mods (+set fs_game, or Mods menu)
- VQ3, CQ3 and CPM are gameplays (\callvote gameplay)
- mods and gameplays are completely different things (one is the environment, the other is the content)

- VQ3 is available in original Q3 (that's where the name is from), the OSP mod and the CPMA mod
- CQ3 is available in CPMA (current) as well as in OSP in an outdated version, and is the foundation of QL gameplay
- CPM is available in CPMA, and an outdated version is also available in CPMA (as PMC) and OSP (as promode)

Don't mix up those terms (which happen to be very similar, granted) or posts about them don't make too much sense.
