Who said she took this picture for the interview? It's been up on her MySpace page since before she joined EG (along with the other "sexy" pictures you've seen), she must have been planning ahead quite well. Do you go around and check every male picture to make sure he's not posing too much or looking too sexy (too be fair, you'll have to be a bisexual)? Sure she's not afraid to show off her looks, neither are many of the more attractive male gamers, but when did she ever try to use her looks specifically to get attention in the gaming community?

And a hypocrite? She said several times in the interview that she's not afraid to use her looks, she just doesn't want that to be the main focus. I guess what you're saying is that she underestimated the fact that (some of) the community could skip the whole interview and focus their opinions off of a few pictures.

Just face the facts... When a team is trying to win over new kinds of fans and attract mainstream sponsors, skill alone won't cut it. It takes personality and marketability (often measured by looks) as well. If you're upset with that then, well, you're upset with society because everything is driven by money these days. If you go look at the new Team EG ad at the top of http://www.intel.com/personal/gaming/index.htm you'll see them doing poses as well. I doubt you'll find it to be so "sexy" since you're probably not into other guys, but I think your opinion was already headed towards the same false conclusions before you even read this post (or any others about her).

If she does not want looks to be the main focus then she would do something about the picture selection. And if she doesn't, she either doesn't care or, like you say, does not mind using her looks, which probably works well in a predominantly male gaming-community. .

However, in return, she then cannot expect people _NOT_ to focus on her looks. A picture tells more than a thousand words. With picture selection like that, she won't convince many that looks are not her main focus. And yes, most gamers will not just take "your word for it".

Also quite interesting that most of the pictures are like nice smiles or in a sexy dress. None of them involving her sitting in front of a PC or the likes. Good marketing for mainstream appeal I guess.

Somehow I don't think she actually asked for it. She plays the game and (from what I can understand from her and the eg guys) is pretty good at it, she even says herself that females should only get attention for their skill.

If you were offered an interview, would you say no? Atleast if you're in some big clan it's always nice with as much publicity as possible, she'd be stupid to say no to the oppotunity for some free advertising.

The way it works for men is we pick male heroes / idols, and we decide to become what they are. In other words, motivation starts by identifying with someone who is better than you.

It might just be that women aren't as motivated by becoming a Lauke or GitzZz as we are, and need different front figures.

That aside, the world of gaming and the thinking of sponsors are taking different routes than we want. We know this already. In the future, any sort of connection with the sponsored, public face of gaming, and the "grass root concept" of gaming will be a happy coincidence. Beautiful, posing women and characteristic front figures is a small price to pay to get "the right stuff" in the limelight.

The real problem is with the 'esport organizations' and media that allow this kind of crap, where girls are used and selected for teams, not based on merit, but on their looks(promotional skills eh?). She was not just given a tennis racket to go and pose for Nike next to a tennis court, because of her looks. She made her way to the top and got signed because she is good at what she does. Now she can go and pose for whoever she likes. But no e'sports' is different, we need excuses and pussyfooting to get anywhere. I guess this says a lot about the credibility of our 'sport'.

Lots of things are unfair and dubious in sponsored gaming today. Q3 getting the ESWC contract, for one.

It's also "unfair" that in society, women make at least 10x the amount as models, hookers and porn stars (without having any talent but their bodies) as men do, but that's life.

I respect you and I was very happy for you when you won ESWC '06. And I'm not saying her appearance isn't a factor here.

That said, I consider it completely ridicoulus to think that anyone would go to this length to make a "cynical" marketing ploy around the underdog part of gaming that UT3 so far is.

If one wants to be cynical to make money, there are about a GADZILLION other and better ways of doing that. So I have a very, very hard time of seeing that as a main motivation for neither Annie Leung or Team EG.

I don't, once again, agree with you here. Like I said above, the support doesn't matter, I believe they could have taken a girl on any other game, it would have had the very same impact.
I agree with you when you say it's probably not Ecstasy's motivation for joining this organisation but I'm just not so sure about this concerning the EG team. I just hope for her I'm not right and she will be able to prove us wrong but I doubt it.

In my opinion, EG's main motivation is very simple. They'd like to have a pretty girl playing UT decent enough not to look ridiculous in a male tournament. They found a girl who seems to like the game enough to train it quite hard. So they offer her a contract to motivate her. If they manage to bring her at a top32 level in male tournament, job will be done. Journalists ( real ones ) who come to an event where she does well will speak about her like "look at this beautiful pwnzer", so their sponsors will be shown on a great body : EG win. They win but personnally (and I guess a lot will think like me) that will be (as Ecstazia says herself) a pretty girl performing well for a girl (unless she performs top3 but I doubt any girl can yet).

The right story should be like this (it almost ran like this for me): Ecstazia likes the game. She trains a lot and manages to defeat a few well-known guyz in training. She decides to go to a few tournament to prove others her skill. Then she does well there (top3 at a national tourney for exemple). Then EG contacts her and they agree on a contract. And at that point, she could deserve to get interviewed. See we totally miss the first part of the story there.

I promised myself not to comment no matter the extent of "bashing" Annie gets for getting interviewed, however I can't sit here and read all of this any longer without clarifying some things.

Annie is NOT on EG solely for the purpose of showing her off and saying "look she has the clan tag". We don't contract players simply for the purpose of being able to look good. As people have mentioned, if we really wanted to run that path we'd find an attractive female WoW player to add to the roster. And trust me, it wouldn't be that hard with the millions of WoW players out there.

Everyone is trying to find a reason as to why such a pretty girl is playing UT3, and how she got sponsored. I can answer those both.

She loves the game, rather she loves UT. She loves to game in general in fact. And why did she get sponsored? Not only did I see potential in her, but she acted professional in person, and presented the ethic of what a REAL professional gamer should showcase. She demonstrated the willingness to learn, for hours a day to better herself. She is a good player, and an even better person who does not deserve the kind of lude and destructive comments on here, or any other site for that matter.

She also has the backing of EVERY SINGLE TEAMMATE ON EG. Players such as Stryfe and CombatCarl, America's most achieved UT players (pardon the thought of bias, I feel this statement is 100% true.) They are with her all the way on helping her play her best. And it's not because they think she's a pretty face. It is because they respect her as a player, a good player, just as the rest of us on EG do.

Part of me thinks this may get through to some of you, another part makes me believe it's just going to add fuel to the fire. But I'd rather step in and take some flak in this direction than see a great individual get pushed around in such an unfair way.

Yep there are tons of players who have potential. There are girls in FPS games. But there is only one girl who've got contracted by one of the biggest team in NA, guess why ?

Again, she probably didn't plan the whole thing. I'm not bitching 100% at her but more at marketing bastards behind the whole shit. But I hope she's aware about the fact she's part of what bring sexism in esport tho. Why ? Because she's contracted despite the fact she didn't achieve anything, she uses her prettyness and takes profits out of it. She didn't prove (yet) that her statut in EG has nothing to do with her look. Sexism will disapear when gallantry won't exist anymore, and here that's kind of gallantry ( a ugly and shamefull gallantry).

When Manchester finds a talented player, they don't come with a 20 million $ contract directly. They take him in their training center, test him in a secondary team, etc, ...

That's so fucking ridiculous to come with "Ecstazya has been contracted for the only reason she's talented and professional". You gotta find something else to excuse this marketing joke.

Of course she'll have more responsibility than just playing. I'm not denying that fact.

What I'm trying to say is that she is being treated as a professional player based on criteria that she's a great individual and a great player. Her looks are an asset as well.

Just like anyone else, if she doesn't perform to our liking, she won't be sent to events. She knows just as well that same fact that she has to keep on par or else face the consequences.

If she doesn't do as good as we would like, then we made a mistake. No question about it.

However I'd like to point out that if Fnatic hadn't taken a chance on me, I would have never achieved what I have done. They could have ignored my request to be apart of the team on such short notice before CPL Winter and I wouldn't be here. They saw potential in my abilities and signed me based on that.

I'm not saying you'll see Annie win events left and right. But we are still hoping to see some results from her, just as Fnatic had expected results from me.

Personally, I don't have a problem with or any girl playing a game, hot or not. But my gripe was much more with how she was presented and how she presented herself with some of the answers.

There are some well-founded concerns in the comments, you just have to find them between the "I'd do her" and "whore to the money" comments from the peanut gallery. I think it would be foolish to ignore that.

The section on female gaming was very hypocritical. She claims the focus should be on skill rather than looks. However, at this stage, all she can present are looks and the author of this article - sadly enough - lets us know that with the pictures. Perhaps it is not her fault for the pictures, but maybe don't wave around with pictures in hot dresses. If you truly care about your your image as a professional gamer, which she claims, she should try control it rather than "whore herself out" (sorry for the terminology).

Yes, gaming isn't exactly a multi-million sponsor business for gamers and one probably has to take every possible opportunity to make it anywhere. But especially in the gaming community and on sites like ESR people will rip you apart for every mistake you make and will not just take your word for it.

I think some people also believe this "Sex marketing" (if it's true or not) is trying to take that away this "exotic" and "genuine" attribute of gaming. This community is very raw, but I believe there genuine concerns in this thread which transcend the general sexism approach.

I will leave it at that, because if I continue it will just end up being some 3000 word essay on gender equally, sexism etc which is not worth my time right now.

I understand your concern over the hypocritical nature of what she answered and the pictures that were used in her interview.

As I've stated in a previous comment, I personally will not prevent her from taking down pictures of that nature. They aren't bad, and far from sexually orientated. She's an attractive girl which everyone seems to agree with. I don't see a problem with her having pictures of herself up like that, whether it is to pursue let's say, modeling or another medium to which her looks ARE what gets her paid or not.

I again will state that I somewhat agree with the fact that the pictures used aren't exactly tied into her professional status as a gamer. However just glancing over picture galleries on ESR and other various websites will show plenty of professional gamers involved in acts which are much worse than Annie looking good in front of a camera.

its a silly debacle and ppl seem to be writing off ecstacy even before shes played her first event.
if her results turn out to be crap and she loses a few events by very wide margins then i would understand ppls concerns on here, but the fact is she has yet to play in any event (from what i can see) so everyone is just pre-emptively saying shes crap so if she does fail they will be able to go "i told you so" on some forum somewhere hunting for a + that gives a graphical representation of an orange + sign.

In terms of the images themselves, I'm not really an advocate of limiting her right to freedom, especially over the internet. She can post whatever pictures she wants on her MySpace, Facebook, etc.

I do agree, in a sense, that we should have had more control over what pictures did get used for the interview which directly relates to the team. However let's be honest here. The same comments would be generated with ANY picture of her attached to the interview.

Yep. I have been together with a female gamer myself (RTS-player), and I recognize this omnipresent sexual attention, as well as the pressure on them proving their skill and being judged by gender when they lose.

If girls come to gaming, they better have a high tolerance for sleazy befriending, far more pressure on skill than any male gamer gets, not to mention in this case, spunk-related comments.

I agree with him that neither she or Eg can control the interviews and pictures they post of her. However I did try and find pics of her behind a pc playing a game, but found nope. But thats besides the point.
The point is she is not being used based on merit, which in my opinion does more damage than good.
I am not upset about her, I am upset because others allow this kind of attitude towards gamers, female gamers and esports in general too take root. I don't for one second think that if she has transparent achievement or potential she/interviewers/eg would not have received this amount of flak, unless off course she is utter shit, but that we do not know.
If Eg want to present her as a gamer and not a marketing tool, they can make an effort to show her potential, upload a demo or take a couple of pics when they practise, make a short video clip of her playing UT, this way you present her as a 'cyber athlete', not just an ordinary girl.

This is what should have been written in the newsposts / interviews and not the part about being a cheerleader.
Sure, it shouldbe ok about everything but someone in EG really messed up in the pr department. The first time I saw that interview I knew that it would start a shitstorm. And probalby many others thought the same. It is possible to deny questions in an interview and only talk about certain topics instead of gaming.
Also if someone in EG had spend some time to think about it he would have come to the conclusion that one or two photos would have been more than enough. Instead we get bombarded and guess where that leads, too.

On the other hand, if for example some unknown guy would be drafted for SK.UT there would be lots of people bitching asking for his accomplishments and why he was picked.
Why can't the same happen when it's girl?

Now, I don't know anything about her nor how well she plays nor whether she deserved that opportunity.
But complaining about the reactions in this post is pointless in my opinon. Of course it would be great if everybody was nice around here and was happy for anyone who achieved something good.
But it's hardly a surprise that the internet is not like that.
And with that in mind those newsposts could have helped to shut the flamers up instead of giving them fuel.

tl;dr: It was obvious that interview would lead to this, so why was it released.

We really don't have all the control in the world when it comes to what goes up on another organization's website. And the questions to me don't seem out of line. Honestly I don't believe there should be a set standard on what an interviewer should ask, or we would get some pretty repetitive interviews.

As another note I too predicted she would get SOME negative comments, but when I read ~200 comments with about 80% of them being unjustified, I will come to defend a player on my team and at least try to shed some light on the situation at hand.

I agree that there shouldn't be a set standard. As a matter of fact I do prefer non standard interviews, as do most people I guess.

But then, I don't think most people resonsible for the worst comments didn't even bother to read the complete interview or chose to ignore the more sensible answers.

And for that reason, imho, a short interview with a focus on gaming and less about her would have been a better choice. And then after she produces some good results in tournament it's time fore an interview like this.
As for controlling the media, it should be possible to talk to the interviewer, explain the situation and ask him to keep it short and to the point. If he doesn't understand then there are other sites.

As I think about it in fact a "standard" interview, which is geared toward gamers regardless of sex might actually have been the best choice.

In the end, please understand I didn't want to criticise you for helping a teammate, which is almost always a good thing. But I think it was simply too late now.

This looks bad. Very bad. To agree to a such an interview is part of not being professional. She's being recruited for skills nobody has seen, and for a game we may never get to see her play. Now, people call her out and instead of defending her position or showing what she's got, she has YOU out here making yourself look like the defensive boyfriend.

Would you recruit someone like Walter for the skill he has displayed? All he has are online demos and a reputation for being a cheater... but at least he HAS a reputation. All we see is a team recruiting a noname with a pretty face. Even if she is good, you took preference because she was a girl. If I found out that a manager under me hired a less qualified person because they were "pretty," I wouldn't say "GOOD JOB SON, THAT'LL GET SOME MEDIA ATTENTION", I would say "Have fun in line for unemployment."

You can't change the rules for professionalism. I can't just go into a job and say "Let me show you what I can do, even though I don't have any qualifications." They'll laugh at you. Part of showing your professionalism is to show that you worked your way up the ladder to get where you are and you put in the hard work that needs to be done. You'd know this if you ever had a real job. Stop trying to justify your team decision and man up.

3. I would not take walter in, I've never met him. Everyone I have suggested join EG I have met personally and have at least played with for some bit before fully endorsing them.

You and everyone here seem to think that having Annie on our team without any major achievements means we have another agenda. What are we going to do, release an EG calendar with her posing in a bikini? Get real.

Remember DaHanG? He was at risk of not being able to attend more events based on not having enough sponsorship because he had never proven himself to the masses. A lot of good that did us I suppose. As well, Fnatic made a mistake picking me up when they did too, because my achievements were minimal at best.

Walter at least has demos and has taken part in online tournaments. Accusations of cheating or not, at least he has the demos.

You're making empty comments that don't address the fact that you picked someone with no experience over someone who had some. She lost to two strong players with a ping disadvantage (she lives in Cali, the players she played are east coast, and I believe the games were played on Chi servers if memory serves me correct) in very close games. I'll try to get screenshots, but at the time this tournament was taking place I believe demoing was impossible.

Edit: Online stat tracking is NOT a good way to determine a player's true skill. You should know this by noticing the person to hold the first position on Enemydown has a frag ratio of 1.1.

Again, are those her accounts? She's piss poor at UT2k4 and ranked 700+ in UT3. So she can beat some guy who used to play UT2k3. The UT3 scene isn't doing so well as it is. Other players who are clearly better than her could have been picked and given a much better opprotunity to have their skill shine and develop. There are tons of gamers in plenty of games that never get anywhere because they don't have sponsorship. However, picking someone based on the media attention you can draw instead of the 700+ better ranked players that are out there, is poor form. That's minimum wage material - not professional.

Also, I remember hearing that she was beating you in UT3. I see that you use an alias to play, so I can't see just how low of a rank you have. This same crap goes on in WoW. Some of the best players won't attend tournaments because of either a lack of sponsorship opprotunity or distaste for the randomness of the game. The result is a tournament of lesser skilled players who have sponsorship.

People like YOU are to blame for the decline of esports. In fact, it will be YOU to blame when this poor girl gets the short end of the stick in a few months. A girl trying to exploit her looks is only as bad as a guy exploiting a girl for it. Pros before hoes.

Edit: As for stat tracking, it's using the elo rating. Are you saying that chess is poorly ranked as well? Elo is based on the rank of the players you play against, not some average of stats.

Oh, and west coast should ping about 50 to CHI servers.

The stats really are meaningless. ELO in chess only uses the results from tournament matches to calculate the rankings and then only the final result, win lose or draw counts. In UT3 on the otherhand (I'm assuming this is how it works anyway) every game you play on a public server counts and your ranking changes not on the result of the game but with each frag you score. It's easy to cheat. You can just get a to alias and then frag them repeatedly to pad your score, you can alias and go and kill higher ranked players to lower their scores without risking your own, or you can just avoid good opponents and only play on servers with newbies.

Elo is a great rating system and can't really be abused like you're saying. You can alias and try specifically to pick on people to get kills for rating in FFA, but it won't get you very far. Even if it were possible to cheat ratings, do you really think that 700 UT3 players were out there doing it? From a hypothetical standpoint, I could see how you could come to the conclusion if she was maybe in the top 100 or so, but being that the system can't be abused as such and the fact that she can't even break top 500 just completely nullifies any such point.

If you look at the UT2004 stats I posted, there were about 3 or 4 players who used names like "barbi3" and I picked the LEAST bad one. She's only got 66 hours clocked under that name so she either doesn't play UT much or she aliases. Judging by how much she uses her same UT3 account, one would assume that is her only UT2k4 name.

This is a stupid thing to be arguing in the first place - we shouldn't have to hunt down stats when she should have had the nuts to back it up to begin with. All these stats show is that she doesn't have barely any UT2k4 experience, and the little she does have is horrible. Her UT3 stats are average at best.. Clearly all that Razer gear in her EG profile isn't giving her an "unfair advantage."

The built in rankings in just about every game I've ever played have been hopelessly broken and most players completely ignore them. The people who are top succeed by playing the system (avoiding good opponents, padding their score, playing conservatively to avoid deaths rather than even trying to win maps, aliasing, etc etc).

So what? There are good players in plenty of games who don't take part in tournaments. If you paid attention to what I had said, I told you to ignore the elo rating and look specifically at her other stats. She's average. That's it.

I didn't know that names were tied to ID numbers in UT2k4 and I did a search for any other names that were used by her ID. It's her only one. That means she doesn't alias, has a grand total of 66 hours played, about 6x more losses than wins, and almost as many deaths as kills.

"Ecstasy: The abuse comes mostly in the form of sexism. A lot of players have egos, and when they get beaten by a girl, their attitudes and behaviour changes into hostility and resentment."

She talks about how she's so SEXUALLY OPPRESSED when she's been playing the game for a month, on and off, at most. She has only won 53 times (out of 384) and I'm pretty sure "deathmatch" is the category used for both FFA and 1v1 in UT2k4. That would explain why she has 7k kills in 384 games. She has no CTF or TDM experience at all and those stats don't show for UT3.

Everyone that we consider on the team goes through a process of whether they would fit the team or not.

In the case of Annie, she acted professional when I had met her personally at Digital Life (mind you which she went to with her OWN money just to get a glimpse of the UT3 BETA.) As well in what little competition that was there aside from the event being hosted by GGL, she was easily the next best player there aside from Stryfe in UT2k4 play. She could also play some mean Guitar Hero too, which goes back to my point of if we really wanted to just show her off, we'd pick a more mainstream game for her to play in to represent us, wouldn't you think?

But no, we decided to pick her up for a game that has a minimal player base, with arguably a more competitive field. A game she loves in fact, that she is also good in. That she now has to prove her self even more so, thanks to the barrage of negativity.

Now as far as "what if she was ugly?" and her getting sponsorship with us?

We promote a healthy self-image. If Annie didn't present a healthy self-image to me at Digital Life, or for that matter did not act professionally, she wouldn't be signed with EG. This means she doesn't necessarily have to be the most attractive person in the world, but why should it matter if she happens to be? Fact is she can play games better than any female I have ever encountered, especially in DeathMatch and she looks good doing it. The only other player I consider near or at her level is Liefje. I had watched Annie play, and played her myself online to get a feel for whether or not she could truly play. And to my amazement, she was better than other girls who do have sponsorship as well, and quite a number of guys too.

That isn't to say there aren't players out there deserving of sponsorship that haven't picked it up yet. However she put herself out there, put in the effort to say "look I can actually play", demonstrated that she could to the people she should have, and it benefit her. Sponsors won't goto players except in extreme scenarios. Do you really think Fatal1ty got to where he's at by just sitting there all day waiting for someone to notice? Of course not. He put himself out there and said "I have what it takes to represent you. Now watch me prove it."

Just as Annie did.

I informally apllied at a smaller company to write my final paper in engineering there. On the phone I was told to drop by, what I did yesterday.

Depending on if we find a topic that my university accepts I'm pretty much hired there, even though they haven't seen a single grade from me yet...

I also had a job tutoring teenagers up to 13th grade in English and Mathematics. The boss hired me first and told me to hand in my grades from high school in the following weeks.

Wow, can't say I'm surprised at the comments.

First off, I think any girls that play video games should be respected if they are GOOD at them. All these poster girls who just 'play' video games are ridiculous, and need to be slaughtered.

Anyway, there's girls like Ecstacy who should be respected, because she's very good at what she plays, and is competitive.

But alas, she is a female, so as male instinct goes, she must be treated differently! Remember seeing interviews by Toxic or Av3k, two different ones, posted one after the other? Did those threads reach 300 comments on how they're attention whores?

I say this is the perfect test in all honesty. Get a lot of hype for her, then put her to the test. If she does well, there /shouldn't/ be a problem, but probably will. If she flops, which she probably won't, then it will probably be twice as worse.

I just think people need to grow up or something. Sure, if Ecstacy was some random girl who just PLAYED games, and was some barbie doll, then I would be happy to see 300+ negative comments, but she isn't.

So now it's just a waiting game, I guess.

I didn't want to post first, but felt that there is lack of girls' voice here.

In my opinion this article is unfair to all girls who play e-sport games or follow them as specs. Do you know how ridiculous it feels to other girls when an ordinary girl is admired on an e-sports page just because she is a girl? I'm sure that it feels ridiculous when you're a boy, too, but not so much, because you feel attracted. If you're a girl, though, you have an unobstructed view, so to speak, and it looks truly ridiculous.
There's nothing special about this one that has any relevance to esports, and there can be no cop-outs: not a top-player, hasn't won any tournament or placed well. Her sole achievement is that she plays a competitive FPS game like other girls I know.

I want to say to whoever came up with an idea to make somebody stand out for being a girl, you suck and you're disrespectful to all other girls. You create bad image for us, too, it's no surprise that boys keep repeating "attention whores" and "girls can't play". Esports is about winning tournaments, and that only a handful of people can do, which is why they're admired. Apparently you chose to forget that players earn respect and admiration the hard way and decided to create free hype for EG.

Moving on however, I honestly feel insulted that you discredit Annie, EG, and her skill without even proper knowledge of how we went through signing her or proper knowledge of how well she can even play.

To be quite fair, I think it's insulting that people discredit her based on her looks. As we signed her for more reasons, and actually went through a process rather than just "she's a girl, lets sign her".

Who truly looks disrespectful, one who actually runs through a process, or one who judges based on her looks. Because to me, many of the people here are judging Annie based on her looks, and simply stating she cannot play games.

People seem to forget that we (EG and Annie) had no influence at what pictures were posted to fit the structure of SK-Gaming, yet are taking a huge hit of criticism. And as the issue of the picture in question you mention is solved, the rest seem to be perfectly fine to me.

I wasn't going to post anything either. With this being ESR and all, there is absolutely no way to influence so many hard heads at the same time. But what the hell -

Throwing the word hypocrite around in this situation IS the most hypocritical thing I've seen so far. Everyone here would never pass up an interview asked of them, don't even try to deny that you would. Her answers were nothing but truthful and honest. The only problem here was a single picture that made it's way to the cover sheet, that she had NO say in choosing. It was picked by the guy who posted it, who yes, does work for EG. Seriously, would you be happier if she was 5 feet tall with a mustache and a 1UP mushroom in her hand?

Marketing is marketing on EG's side, but that is completely beside the fact that she is an actual player. She isn't just sitting on the bench being spoon fed all this opportunity and exposure because she gives you guys a hard on you can't finish off. I wouldn't have allowed that, and I never would have given her the option of EG if that was the case.

This thread is half jealousy and half bashing due to it. She's professional, cute and she won't have sex with you. Sorry? Winz seems to be the most upset from the whole thing, and I'm sorry but we can't all have French biased tournaments to catapult our e-career's. And the on interview I've seen of you, you look terrified of the camera and interviewer. Can you even deal with the exposure if given to you? You of all people who have taken plenty of flak over the years shouldn't be commenting in such a way.

As far as her skill level goes and her not "proving" anything, there really is no way to prove it with barely anything to play for in UT3. However, having trained her myself online, and on LAN I can tell you that she is a contender. She's not going to beat me or CC in a tournament, I'll be honest but she can place top 5 here without a doubt. She also listens well and does her job in TDM which is more important right now for us. She's already placed 9th in both online tournaments run over here, having lost to the winner of one of them. You show me another girl that can do that and then I'll shut up. I will get demos up if need be.

Trust me, I know that ESR is cut throat and demands skill before show. Even after I've won things you people have shit all over me for absolutely no reason. Also, as said before, if it's not Quake it doesn't belong on ESR because that's what this community is. That's fine and I'm not bitching about that but you guys completely overlook the important thing here:

In a time where console games, and leagues like MLG are completely destroying the world that we together have built, you are once again causing conflict within what's left of PC FPS DM. There is absolutely no room for this. Every one of the talentless PMS and FragDoll girls get massive amounts of exposure, 10 times more then this and more then Annie ever will yet you choose to attack within your own community. She is playing a skillful game, and competing along side us with the right attitude. If you can't see the problem with attacking her then maybe you should zip up and take a closer look.

id like to see those demos stryfe, because you ringed in for in those tournaments because you were "training" her at lan, when she came back to the west coast and played online she was horrible, she walks in straight lines and cant play for shit thats why I never ever see her play in pugs or any servers...somebody might find out that she actually sucks and not good at all. Yes i'm calling you and ecstasy out...you ringed for her when she was on the east coast, and when shes back in cali server she got her ass handed to her. She's obviously actively playing since her stats are changing on the UT3 stats page. They are, however, not very good. Also, UT2k4 stats show that she's a total newbie, with almost no time played. Based on her stats, I'd have to worry about demos being uploaded from online play that are not someone else aliased. All she would have had to do is prove herself at ONE lan and everything here could have been avoided.

Recruiting players based on looks or other reasons than skill goes against everything the sport stands for. This is a game that can be played by handicapped people, ugly people, the french, fat people, skinny people, and beautiful people - all on the same playing field. Even if she IS good, she should have the same hardships that everyone else does in finding a sponsor. Right now, you picked her over someone else that is more qualified. You should have taken someone else and waited until she got some momentum after a few LAN and online events. It's even more silly since she plays a game that may never even see a tournament.

You talk bad about PMS and Fragdolls when you're no better. If I was your sponsor and I knew this crap was going on, I'd drop you in a second. It's a good thing I already hate intel and razer.

She was a CTF player in 2k4, no CTF player has good rankings. I doubt those stats even tracked the entire time to begin with. And then again, why the hell are you using those sites as a standard? You could look up Lauke and find shit rankings there. Did you just install the game today? Or are you that desperate to use EPIC stats as a credible source? All of us are 500-1000+ enemy down......

No one is going to go through the trouble of aliasing as her, playing games, and uploading demos, so don't get your speedos in a knot. Yes she can prove herself on LAN, but a LAN hasn't happened yet.

Yes I agree on the hardships of finding a sponsor. I went through all of 2k3 and 2k4, traveling absolutely everywhere out of my own pocket, with minimal money. I know the struggle, trust me. And I've had more then one argument about it with her as far as her being exposed THIS much with no accolades. But, it's not my doing, nor is it hers. The person you need to bitch at are the ones conducting/posting the articles.

I'm no better then PMS/Fragdolls? I've done more then all of them combined....in my bathroom, after a taco bell eat-a-thon. Drop me for what? Defending a teammate? Oh that's right, honor/respect isn't in your vocabulary.

This is the best barbi3 in all of the stats pages. The other ones were so bad, that if this is the wrong one, it's really sad. Since you can search by ID, you can see she has only used the one name... ever. Looking over the multiple IDs Lauke is under, he has the goods.

If this isn't her ID, please show me the correct one for UT2k4. She has no CTF/TDM experience at ALL according to that list. Just what CTF did she take part in and under what name that isn't showing up? As for UT3, there is only the one Ecstacy account and the numbers are high enough to show that it's active. Even if you dismiss elo, her accuracy and other stats are nowhere near good enough for a professional team. She hasn't done CTF at all in UT3, though it doesn't show TDM.

You're not defending your team, you're defending a business investment. Don't talk to me about honor until you back up what you're claiming here.

You can't keep your word not to post in a thread and you don't show results - your words have no value. It wouldn't matter if she was better than me at UT3 since I don't even play the game. If you would bet $300 down on a video card for a game against her, why not just have her play against some people online and record the matches? Why is it that you're going out of your way so much to avoid just giving us some proof? Any other player would just say "Sure, let me hop in game."

Again, if you had just waited until after she competed in a LAN in ANY game, there would be no question as to why you would bring her on the team. From what we can see, she was a total newbie that you are teaching. Sure, she might be above average when you get done, but that's not fair to someone who already had the skill. Why is it that your team is so opposed to just showing some results? The both of you are just going in word loops. It's not like we're asking you to donate your lefticle, we just want to know why you would recruit her.

Granted, I'm sure the girl is improving with training from better players. The fact is, she shouldn't have needed it to begin with. All these stats show is that she's HORRIBLE at UT - but it's all we have to go on. I'm sure she's about average or maybe a bit better by now, but that's just a media stunt. Nobody will take her seriously. Even still, she's playing a game that they know doesn't have lasting power in the industry.

One way or another, she won't be around for more than a few months.
