man if i look at the old movies from KOS there were a lot of maps i could do with almost the same speed and time, but this just blew me away. Amazing strafe skills by w3sp, wow.

and finally some freaking first person views, KOS has done this more and more over the last time (and compared to other persons he has always used a lot of first person views) I cannot say it enough Defrag movies need first person view else you can't see shit whats happening and you can't see any skill what so ever :)

Can anyone tell us where to get the maps used in the movie? The "official" defrag map packs don't seem to have these maps.

use this link stated above, then use a program that automaticly downloads everything in the dir (so if you choose the dir MAPS, it will download all the maps), then use a .pk3 pakker and pak all maps into 1 .pk3 file. :) put this file into maps and your done.

if you put all maps in the q3 map folder q3 won't find anything or won't even boot (atleast that happend to me)

Awesome. I loved it. I definitely like defrag strafe-moves better than "weapon-tricking" movies, and I really like the long "jumping around" sequences. The outro reminded me of KTP and PRO's "pro-motion". But you make them look slow :P Awesome music as well. Ambient movie sounds tracks for the win \o/

I agree, maybe because it has runs and not freestyle. Runs are far more impressive I think.
If only Lags would make a movie with as much 1st person footage as this one...

This one was really boring, long-dragged and dull. Sure there were 2-3 cool jumps, but not that impressive anyways.

great content presented in a simple and clean way but i could have used a little more cowbell.

would have liked to see some synch and editing instead of music simply playing along a first person view. it wasn't bad to listen to but the video didn't really get me excited. when it comes to tricking/defrag i'd like to see some cams, as long as they don't get too crazy :)

around 3:25 music really starts when the run starts (a little before that is just an "intro", both music and vid), but that's not something that you see and think WOW NICE SYNC, but it is synced anyway...

from 5:30 to 5:34, now THAT is a VERY NICE sync, even the music fits to the being in the air "mood", AWESOME!

maybe there's more... I'm not up to check it now =p

i'm not into defrag, but this movie made me realising the beauty, ease and incomparable elegance of trickjumping. The editing and music creates an awesome ambience, which makes me feel good. I can watch the movie over and over again, without getting bored... 10/10!!

so regarding to your comments

the bones model. i agree the jump sound is kind of weird. (ofc by far better than orbb) anyway i left it, since the intentions of the movie were to do abit of a trippy movie. so especially in scenes, when its get slowmo, the jumpsound just sounds crazy. so i decided not to change the original model to doom we have seen in hundreds of movies.

synchronisation
i also agree, that it could have been more synched.
but first of all its hard to compare a frag or maybe fs movie, with defrag movies.
a frag takes from 2-10 seconds, so you can handle it as you like, to place every shot to the beat or snare is much easier. especially if you use a variable timescale.
a defrag run takes from 20+ seconds and much higher.
so synching pdm impostor is kind of hard.
so before i started editing i had about 40 tracks i could have used. and than after recamming and capturing i looked, which track fits the best. in this case ofc no single action on pea is synched to a beat, but the whole run fits the music.
the landing of the random overbounce on chronos3, or the last 2 jumps on bardok cpm are synched to the music.
the cams of the intro and the scene leading in to szaq2 are synched abit aswell.
after some tests, i decided against using filters to music, because short flashes didnt fit the atmosphere.

all in one iam still glad most of you guys like it. sorry for wring that much :P
