yeah you're right, you can switch pov AND you can see the item times, which you can't in a pov demo. didn't know that, so I'll give it a go! =) (also, unlike Slasher said, the demos still aren't available =<)

These serverdemos are nice, but they should be recorded in the event itself. The lag is horrible =(

they were lagfree for me (maybe i still had the clientprediction negative) but first demo stopped displaying scores after a few minutes. (scoreboard was empty)

I've been meaning to find out if to solve the lag on q4tv demos you just need to set net_clientprediction to a similar value to that needed on the Q4TV server it was recorded from... maybe that is the case.

Share the value you used for these ServerMVDs. I'm getting a real head ache watching them and I'd try anything to get them SMOOTH.

Maybe this is just in my head and maybe Anthony J will correct me but this seems to work for me.

Turn on com_showasyncstats, get the prediction that's in the top right to be 90 or whatever the server fps is of the demo.

It says client prediction but you need to adjust your net_clientprediction to change the value and it does not have the same meaning. Usually I have to go between -80 to -200 for my net_clientprediction to get my client prediction in com_showasyncstats to reach 90.

Once you make a change wait a little bit as it seems to take a little time before the number in com_showasyncstats changes.

Maybe it's just a mind thing but each one of these demos I have watched it seems to work every time.

thats what i do when watching q4tv live but i make sure its around 20-30 client prediction.. i don't doubt the value should be different (like 90 like you said) when watching a playback though
