That's not the annoying part though. At least here in Stockholm the annoying part is all the ghetto kids doing sounds, screaming, answering calls, talking and shit in the middle of the movie.

Usually it forces me to stand up and scream something like "Håll käften era jävla småglin!". Around 70% of the time that has a positive effect and the rest of the audience applaud but the other 30% of the time it just makes it worse.

I agree. The day Spiderman3 came out, the cinema was packed with people. As soon as Spiderman turned to the "dark side", some kids began shouting "EMO". Also throughout the movie, people were making stupid noises of Zoidberg from Futurama. It just spoils it for everyone else.

You guys seem to live in shitty places then. Perhaps I've been lucky, but I have honestly never been to the movies where the crowd has been that bad.
I love going to the movies and usually people are quite nice in the way that they dont talk on the phone during the film, talk or pull bad jokes all the time. But then again, I try to avoid seeing the movie on the first day so that any possible morons screaming stuff like "emo" (though we dont really have a phrase for that in sweden), young kids laughing constantly and talking etc.
What you cant really avoid though are fat and long fucks that smell and has very big hair, baseball caps etc and sit in front of you. I HATE that shit.

i mostly go to växjö and jönköping, and when theres a so called big movie like 300 or whatever people make these noises when its quiet..

sorry but, i also did that when that ridicolous moment came up in the movie ;p

a film roll consists of several fotos (that are all analog).
of course there is some sort a resolution in the cinema in terms of width and height.
but you were talking about using filmrolls over dvds because of the resolution, so i thought you were talking about a pixel-resolution.

Seeying that most filmrolls probably consist of analog fotos, i dont see why resolution should be an issue here. because analog fotos do not have a resolution (pixelwise). and a camera lense does catch 'infinite' light, the picture just gets digitalized, and then the picture has a resolution. but if the camera is analog, then the picture stays analog to.
i don't know how movie films are captured now a days, but i guess they still use analog technology, and only get remastered digitally with something like 32Megapixel.

nah i think that takes max 5 secs here, usually it's all on the fly/ads are already in same resolution etc. never really noticed such a thing here :)

I think they get angry because in the situation, for them it seems as the only way to solve or respond to the problem, that might have any effect. I used to have a really really (really really) short temper when i was a teen, and if you ask me now, it was because i didnt know how else to respond, and i got angry because i already assumed, that even if i said "shut up and begone" to eg. the child, it would still reply "whats your name?!". And in similar situations where you reach the same conclusion, that there is no way of winning by using verbal language, you would tend to get pissed as hell.
Basically, in a verbal fight i was poor as shit, wasn't good to come up with a funny remark to shut the other guy up or if i had opened my mouth, i would probably have yelled "fuck you your piece of shit, im going to shit in your fucking throat if you don't shut the fuck up!". You can't exactly do that in the cinema :D
But eventually you probably figure that responding by getting pissed really isnt that useful, and grow up..

I just ignore it, shrug and go about my business. There's little to nothing you can do in any of those situations, and I've decided to regard emotions as conscious decisions (recursive lolz!). Only reason you can get angry at someone is if you decide to get angry at hem.

i saw that "perfume" movie with some friends of mine who enjoy fucking shitty movies like.. i can't even remember the titles, but you know, typical shitty horror movies. anyway, the perfume movie turned out to be quite a good movie in contrast to the expected shitty horror that everyone in the audience was eagerly expecting, so people started being assholes and shouting stupid stuff - e.g. the teens that couldn't handle the "embarrassing" nude-fest at the end and had to make noises to cover up their uncomfyness; i mean, i pretty much figured everyone laughing at that point was a retard, including half of the people i went with. so the moral is, if you go to a movie that appeals to fuckheads - then don't go out to see it, even if it's good.

I haven't had this problem in Sweden. I've never had a problem with that pause just before the movie...

But I've had problems with kids yelling or just acting weird. When I went to the cinemas in San Francisco and saw "Pan's labyrinth" there is a pretty brutal scene where a guy is smashing another guy in the face with a bottle. What irritated me was that there were some kids behind me laughing through the whole scene...

I can't watch movies at cinemas because I just think on-screen violence is a bit amusing. Actors trying their best to use whatever they learned in "Drama Fighting 232" and make it look realistic. I end up cackling maniacally when someone gets punched in the kidneys.

I haven't seen anything cringeworthy for a while now, perhaps I'm just desensitized. Also, the person making the noises in movies is usually me, because I just can't take some movies seriously.

I've seen enough violent films to know 2 things: 1) Not all fight scenes are well made, 2) Not all fight scenes are even necessary. When there's a fight that's completely pointless to the story and just tacked on because they felt like they needed it, as well as badly made, that's when I laugh.

Easy fix to anyone who gets annoyed: don't go see bad films.

Yay 30 seconds :( Me and a buddy spent over 3 hours next to three ~13 year old kids last Saturday watching Pirates of the Caribbean 3. That is, WE watched, or tried to watch (I'll have to rewatch that movie at home some time to get all of it...) and the kids uh... Moved around, screamed, fought eachother, laughed for about 10x longer than it was actually fun (if it was fun at all, whatever they were laughing at the particular moment), toyed with their phones and redecorated the floor with their popcorn bags the size of themselves repeatedly swearing and being vocally happy about the work of cleaning that shit up being some one elses.

But yeah, kids are kids, it's their parents that can go die in a fire. Because I mean hey, it's not like they're teaching their kids any manners or looking after them (not even watching the cinema with them) so no loss. I'm not very impressed by cinema staff either but then again things like that are a bit complicated in small towns like where I live, small cinema (there was probably 1 single guy working there anyway) etc so can't really blame him...

Slightly off topic I've read through the posts here and 1. I agree with you on a lot of points regarding this and that and 2. lmao@amateur psychologists, no offence.

that's one of the reasons i don't wanna see the new pirates on cinema... the other is not to milk the money cow :)

I was a true fan by pirating (yaharrr) the second movie (mostly because it took too long to get here) and ~€10 is a bit rough for a money cow sequel like you said, last movie was lengthy though so I thought it was worth it. Or would have been. :(

Other than that it would be great if cinemas had certain times/dates with age restricted dates regardless of what movie it is x) Probably not profitable though, bleh. :(
