well, because I said that only some of Rammstein's song are sounding like marching. So bringing one example does fit, especially if it exactly titled like a march.

Muhammad from Necrophagist is pretty technical, but it's not my cup of tea. I like Fredrik Thordendal and Dimebag Darrell because of their riffs, but saying they are the best is a bit excessive.

Kirk Hammet is actually the only guy I have respect for in metallica after that metallica: some kind of monster documentary :). Didnt really see much of that new guy (except he cant do backing vocals good enough like Newsted did). But the others just seemed like such whiners to me. Hammet does some really brilliant stuff on occasion, and seems like a down to earth guy, massive respect :)

But he plays like a robot, no emotion at all.

You would probably like Yngwie Malmsteen also :)

I really like Satriani, although I wouldn't recommend going to see him live. he just stands still most of the time, and plays every song perfectly. I have much respect for him able to do that, with such hard songs, but it makes his performance kind of dull

Adam Jones, one word - unique, I just can't describe it how I feel when I hear his riffs.
Tom Morello cause of his great style (RATM times).
John Petrucci cause of his perfection.
Kirk Hammet cause of simply being him.

Why not Steve Vai/Joe Satriani/Yngwie Malmsteen? Maybe yes, they are virtuoso artists with amazing skills, but I just can't listen to them. Their music is like "who can play faster while doing "crazy" stuff with guitar so people can admire them". Some parts of their songs are good (Searching Lights by Satriani), but mostly it's nothing interesting for me.

I'm not a huge fan of playing really fast all the time, but playing fast does not mean absence of nice melody. I think that Malmsteen especially proves that, in perticular his older stuff.
Neither of those you mentioned play fast all the time though anyways :p

i really like the sounds Mikael �kerfeldt and Peter Lindgren come up with. i think opeth are one of the best musical bands in the world (if you know what i mean) Damnation is an AMAZING ALBUM.

Heard �kerfeldt might do some project with portnoy from Dream Theater (and some other guy), looking forward to that tbh.

when i bought it ( i was like ZOMG NEW OPETH FSKDJADJKSALDSKJAL:DSJADL:KJSADL:KSDJAL: )in the cd store) i had nfi about the album, i put it in my cd player and waited for the heavy to kick in, which it never did. very mellow album, and �kerfeldt is an amazing singer

Well, some people disliked both Damnation and Deliverance. Also others think pre Still Life albums are not as good as the last ones.

I personally enjoy every Opeth album, but if you are new Blackwater Park and Still Life are the safest bets.

I saw him live yesterday here in N�rnberg, and it was the most incredible performance I have ever witnessed ! And I have beeon to alot of concerts, mostly rock and metal, probably to about 60-70 or something I would guess. But what that guy did and the way he communicated with the audience, laughing and joking around all the time, that was absolutely great ! If you can see him, go see him !
