(these seem to vary from person to person but i think these are about average)

cg_drawtimer 1
r_picmip 3
i think that's about all the custom commands you need
oh and the command that makes rocket explosions + lg look normal with picmip. no idea what that command is in cpma :)

Has never existed, and the snaps command itself was obsoleted in CPMA 3 or 4 years ago by just autosyncing to whatever the server's sv_fps is.

snaps must be equal to sv_fps, and most servers are on sv_fps 30. Hence snaps 30 is the value you want to use.

if the sv_fps is 30, use 30 snaps
if the sv_fps is 20 or 40, use 40 snaps.
cl_maxpackets 100 if you're unlucky to have a 512/128 connection or less
cl_maxpackets 125 otherwise.

ps. these features in cpma are all well and good, pity that you can wrap rails around walls, and shots that are a few cm off still hit, though.

but hey, cpma is superior, right?

I agree though, Q3 should have a GUI configuration like Q4Max.

You could also just start downloading other ppls configs and see how it looks and what options they have and then keep the bits you want. Some configs are nicely laid out and you can just take the graphics settings from it or their hud options etc.

Also check out some of the show your q3 config threads from here where people have posted pics and then you can see what is possible.

Sh@dy, you dont have CPMA 1.32 full. You can't use 1.33 if you don't install 1.32 first. Also, nodm5 is cpm21 so no need to include it (if you add the missing CPMA 1.32 full that is).

right now i did it like this:
unzipped the 1.32 cpma folder and the maps, then unzipped the 1.33 release into the 1.32 folder, so it is 1.33, and the maps have to be put into baseq3 like the other maps i have packed into the package, hope this package helps at least some people

the mod files isnt an update so u delete the previus one, only the maps stay

IMPORTANT: This release contains ALL the CPMA content except for the maps.
This is a new (and ongoing) policy. Admins can (and should) delete ALL
old z-cpma-pakXXX.pk3 files from their servers, INCLUDING z-cpma-pak100.

i think you're limited to 3 demos in playlist unless you register the program. this isnt the case in 2.xx. also, i've had trouble running demos straight from .zips and .rars without extracting the demo file first in 3, both in q4 and q3. no problems in 2.xx. i havent checked the site in a while. is 3 still beta or is it a final release? everything i describe was with the beta of version 3.

and put irc maybe in (with popular channel) and a readme which explains how to install mods and what is the point of the mode (for noobs) - basic info, where to get configs, links -defrag maps, esr, where to get demos cyberfight.org
maybe make a irc channel where we only help noobs with problems configs ...
and gtv folder, with gtv ips, i had a hard time finding them as a noob

just some ideas for the ultimate startup pack =)

LoL, re-installed Q3, full graphic options 1280 x 1024 and the built in timedemo gives 363 fps AND it looks better than Q4.

Makes me wonder why I ever uninstalled Q3.
