Anything nowadays with 120hz+

Don't be fooled by all this 250hz bullshit it's a farce.

benq xl2411z i hear alot of good things about. not too expensive. heard its very close to the benq xl2430t i have myself

else do as stphn said any 120hz or more is close to the smoothness of crt

get another CRT on ebay or craigslist or something

Used a CRT myself for a long time. Eventually got an Asus VG248QE and have been using that for about two years. Very happy with it. There's a lot less eye strain from using LCDs, I think. Feels better to play on.

I used CRT until I was able to go to 120hz.

Pretty much any 120hz+ Asus, Benq or Eizo is okay - not quite CRT but close enough that you should be satisfied. Biggest problem is poor color accuracy. 120hz+ IPS exist for better colors but they suffer from slower pixel response.
