thx for the input, but i am mainly playing sc2, at a 1920x1080 resolution. therefore, i need a really high dpi. currently im using the microsoft habu (basically the same as the DA), which has a max dpi of 2000. this is slightly too slow for my liking, i´d need something like 2.2-2.8k dpi to obtain the sensitivity i like. i really dislike adjusting the effective sensitivity of my mouse by anything else than dpi as it reduces precision in my experience.

another issue i got is that my thumb most often gets slightly sweaty while playing, so i want a mouse with rubbered sides, at least on the thumbs side, but if its also rubbered on the pinky side, its a plus.

plz note that for rts games, ppl in general want to use higher sens than for fps.

Well if you just want high dpi mouse there are many with rubber grips.

The more economical mouse would be Logitech G500 for you.
It has 5700 dpi and its very cheap too £30.

And ppl in general dont use high sens for fps they use low sens.

yea, as i said: i know high sens isnt that much of an issue for fps gamers, but for rts gamers it is. and im more of a rts gamer. (im suffering from gaming sickness, so i couldnt even play ego-shooters if i wanted to...)


the problem is that i not only want 3000+ dpi and rubber grips, i also want no acceleration whatsoever and no prediction. and i want ergonomics that i like, which is rather rare. only a small minority of mice feel really good and comfortable for me. the kudos is one of these select few whose ergonomics i really like.

btw i´ve heard that the g500 is suffering from some acceleration issues due to badly placed sensor(s) - is this true?

Steelseries Xai has some positive acceleration at high speeds, but if you would use it with a high DPI (+1600) than you wouldn't notice that acceleration at all. With a sensitivity of 30cm/360 degree turn you can notice it slightly (5%).

And yes there is always some mice we like has not good sensor. The one which has good sensor has weired shape. So basically its difficult to find the mouse exactly your or my liking. You have to pick one of the mouse around which is near what you like.

Ergonomics of mice if you think I would like Logitech Mx400 best for me otherwise I would go ambidextrous mice. Sensor would be Mx518/Copperhead but shape is big/long and little heavy for me.

You would be fine with G500 acceleration and mouse has no prediction and you can toggle it. It has latest sensor dont worry about anything.

As far as Kudos goes. I havent found anywhere which sensor they use. So its hard to say.

Logitech G500 weights awfully much, wouldn't recommend it at all. The wireless Logitech G700 is also a no go; wireless mice in general are a no go. Roccat Kone is a heavy bitch.

The only mice I would really recommend from that list are the Steelseries Xai and the Logitech G9x. Both great mice, though they have their issues.

He could also get a DA Respawn or an Abyssus if he has a pad that copes well with them, though I wouldn't really like the heaviness of the DA for RTS games.

you're hallucinating. changing your sens will not decrease your "precision", it's merely working as a multiplicator for your mouse input.

anyway, you're lucky as there is lots of high dpi "gamer" hardware around. roccat just released a 6000dpi mouse but even the xai/g9x will be fine for you.

thing is, those weigh a lot more than what i would like to have for rts.

i dont use the mousewheel click down... ever. i think i havent used that more than 10 times while browsing during the last 2.5 years.... so thats nothing i care about ;)

If I'm not mistaken Roccat is owned by Speedlink. The Roccat Kone has a very similar look and style to the Kudos...

I think the sensor is the same as the ones found on the Xai or G9x... Should hopefully answer any and all questions since there's a ton of threads about the Avego 9500? sensor.

I don't really know anything else though in terms of build quality, I know a user from another forum said good things after using the Kudos and he's gone through plenty of mice...

Last, it isn't too bad for the price, unlike it's Roccat cousin so hopefully that helps.

They arent owned by Speedlink. They just share the distributer.

And the Kudos and Kone are way way different. Kone is designed in house by roccat, while Kudos is a rebadge of an OEM mouse.

Hmm, I've been told otherwise by a guy who owns both...

I own both. The Kone is MUCH bigger.
