After a failed first attempt, tonight the ESL Major Series IX Quakelive Duel will be concluded with the Final opposing

strenx to

k1llsen in a best-of-five match!

Joe Miller from ESL TV, along with his buddy

2GD, will be bringing the action live to you on stream starting at 20:00 BST.

As you might already know, the Season X was already announced and won't feature Quakelive.

Killsen can very well beat him, he beat him in the groupstage of this EMS and he could have easily won the first two maps. Third his aim was way off, probably because he was disappointed with himself after that dm13. Strenx might have a small edge but he and killsen always seemed quite even to me online (same on lan).

WoT is a sponsored game..., same for LoL, CF and HoN. QL has been financed by TE and does currently not bring the necessary interests and activities, so it has been removed from EMS X.

ESL is business, and considering that peak online numbers for EU cluster of WorldOfTanks is bigger then the whole number of accounts tracked by qlranks to date (around 60 k players playing at the same time) it is no wonder why ESL chooses it. And yes, it is backed financially, unlike QL.

And although it is slightly irrelevant, on Russian cluster there are almost 350 000 simultaneous players playing during peak hours. So I'm not surprised that much about ESL decision. WoT is a young rising star. :)

i feel very sorry for killsen. i think he lost toxicity due to wrong weapon selection in the last fight (he used rockets but also had lg, right?) and dm13 due to not picking up 50 lg ammo and therefore being forced to switch to rockets below plasma area. :[

About Toxicity: I think the defensive play of strenx during the last comback of killsen was really strong. There are 2 or 3 instances where strenx deliberately stood ground and delivered more than 200 dmg of rocket, which in a map with low health like Toxicity can mean a big delay.

I think the key moment was what 2GD/Joe highlighted: that battle at ra, when strenx was left with 30 health, and killsen backed away for the YA, just to take a rail afterwards.

I don't really want to sound pessimistic, but what are you on about? "1800" - not much? Have you seen any recent QL stream? I'll tell you - these are good numbers. Of course if this event would get more promotion + ESL let russian casters to stream it could result into soild 3-5k max viewers. But 10x more - plz.

QL never beat this number even when it was so called 'alive'. So please, people need to stop saying Quake is dying.

I was pleasantly surprised to see 1800 viewers, even if this was peak and more like 1500 on average. Well done!

Last DH was only different because it was just before (or after) SC2.
