ESWC Sweden has just released two more spots for the grand finals in Paris. With

Spart1e already invited Sweden will have a maximum of four players fighting for the gold at Disneyland. The winner will get his flight, licence and hotel payed, where the runner up and second runner up has to finance travel and hotel by himself.

Event: ESWC'10

The Electronic Sports World Cup has recently announced the invited players to participate in its global finals event that will be held from June 30 to July 4, 2010 in Paris, France.

Quake fans may be particularly interested that, among others, four well-known Quake Live players were invited, as well. The list consists of:

Shane "rapha" Hendrixson (Master of Greece winner)
Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira (Master of Greece runner-up)
Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski (Master of Greece 3rd place finisher)
Alexei "Cypher" Yanushevsky (ESWC 2008 Defending Champion)

It is worth adding that all of the players listed above accepted their invitations, which means that we will most definitely see at least two Swedish, American, and Polish participants at the ESWC Finals - one from the qualifier and the other one invited directly to the event.

Event: ESWC'10

Slovenia will also have ESWC qualifiers for Grand Final in Paris. There will be qualifiers for Quake Live, Trackmania Nations Forever, Warcraft III Frozen Throne and Fifa 2010. The sign-ups for ESWC Slovenia are already open. Qualifiers will be held on the 8th of May in

Ljubljana. The winner will travel to France and represent Slovenia in the world finals at Disneyland, Paris.

Counter Strike 1.6 finished last weekend with

H2k winning the ticket to Paris. H2k will be joined by

SK Gaming and

fnatic who received direct invites by the ESWC.

Swedish E-Sport Association, the people behind the popular league Swedish National League, presents the Swedish ESWC Qualifiers.

Qualifiers for Quake Live will be held June 5-6 in

J�nk�ping.
The winner will travel to France and represent Sweden in the world finals at Disneyland, Paris.

Games

Quake Live and Street Fighter 4 will be held at the internet caf� Game City in J�nk�ping. Guitar Hero will be held in the evening either at Game City or in one of J�nk�ping's nightclubs.

Apparently, the organizers of ESWC added two more games to their list: According to team AAA Guitar Hero and Quake were listed in an internal presentation among eight further games. It is still unclear, which offspring of the Quake series was meant exactly, more information is expected soon.

Furthermore, ESWC announced on their facebook page that they could obtain Peugeot as new sponsor and that their new website is going to launch on February, 1st.

World�s top gamers will be able to compete during the 7th Electronic Sports Wold Cup 2010 Grand Final in Disneyland, Paris from June 30 to July 4, 2010 for a total amount of 200,000 $ prizemoney.

Games-Services, the original company behind the ESWC, filled for bankruptcy several months ago. In the aftermath of this, St�phane Cosse, the head of DIP Communication and DIP Organisation (An event organiser), has purchased the rights to the ESWC brand, trademark and tournament management system for �50,000 and cyberleagues.fr for �1,500.

The ESWC has now unveiled their plans for the summer of 2010 with a new $200,000 dollar e-Sports event taking place in Disneyland Paris from June 30 to July 4, 2010.

Games Included

However, according to SK-gaming Cosse was a lead figure in Ad�clik who ran a $50,000 event called ClickArena back in 2003 where in similar circumstances to the CyberXGames the prize money turned out to be a hoax and no team received a penny. Perhaps in light of this the ESWC has made a further announcement:

"in order to prevent more harm and damage to the ESWC image and to maintain coherent the ESWC project and spirit, DIP-Organisation is studying the possibilities to found a way to compensate the last ESWC champions."
