I've been using cheap in-ears until now, but lately I've been toying with the idea to get a good headset. What are your thoughts on this? Thinking of Quake Live, are normal headphones better than in-ears? Does quality really make any difference concerning Quake Live? I am a noob on this matter (naively using old, cheap in-ears for many years), so I'd be happy to have these questions answered. Also, if you have recommendations for a good headset (I thought 'Hell, if I buy new headphones, why not a headset!?'), please let me know.

I think it was originally streamed on own3d.tv, which went offline a few years back. Seems to me like nobody ever cared to upload the VOD on YouTube.

So is this match (commented, VOD) forever lost? Did anybody download the VOD? Is it available somewhere and I just didn't find it with a quick search?

It would be a shame if it really is gone. I remember being blown away watching it live. One of the most action-packed mental matches around that time. The casters just added to the expierenced, as they were just as amazed as I felt. And now it's gone?

I recently told a friend about it, he wanted to watch it. Thus I hope for a small miracle. If somebody knows something helpful, it would be much appreciated :)

After the QL-update today I installed Quake 3 and CPMA again and exec'd my QL config, just to see if it would work out, and actually, it sort of did. Visually it looks fine. Though, my sensitivity felt way off. It feels too low and mouseaccel feels way too low, it doesn't kick in like in QL. Any troubleshoot ideas?

Also, is there a summary of important commands that can't be ported 1:1 from QL to Q3?

Or is all of this pretty futile, and I should build a q3-cfg from scratch, going through each command seperately?

Around two and a half months back I bought myself a PC and with it a BenQ 2411t. Then, I switched from playing on my notebook to the PC completely. It felt very weird in the beginning, but I did not really question that (blamed it on not being used to the setup). After a while, I got used to that (or so I thought). All I changed in my config was the resolution (from native 1600:900 to native 1920:1080) and I upped the fov a little bit, since the screen is bigger. So after somewhat two months I played some on my notebook again... And it felt like a completely different world... Way more responsive... Movement felt spot on, especially the mouse was doing pretty much exactly what I wanted. Then today, a day later, I am back at my PC and it feels completely like shit again... Only after a few hours on my notebook. Mouse responses feel very mushy, I move it too far or not enough all the time (On notebook start and finish of movement are sharp and precise, on PC it has no sharp onset and offset, but it feels like the movement fades in and out), I cannot hit with lg anymore (or so it feels) and all in all feel like a spastic compared to playing on the notebook...

What the heck is this? Playing on this PC with 120hz + lightboost monitor stinks compared to playing on the old notebook. What could be the problem? Software/Hardware/Config? Or is it all just placebo?

I have been playing for years on a notebook, but recently bought a PC. The new screen is bigger and I started playing with a higher resolution (A neat ql-cfg looks incredible like this). Besides that I kept all settings the same (fov, pitch/yaw/sens/accel). On the one hand I am now for the first time on 120hz and together with bigger screen my aim got a bit better. But the general in-game-feel is very mushy and I can't really move well (it doesn't feel comfortable and I have less speed and less dodging), while on the notebook I have a very sharp and accurate feeling while playing. How come? Is it just because I am not used to the new setup or do I have to adjust some settings in my cfg to make the bigger screen/higher resolution-thing work for me? In other words: Does screensize or resolution have an influence on how sens/accel work out?
If I could bring the comfortable feeling and sharp feeling from the notebook to the better screen and combine it with the accuracy that comes with it, I would be in quake-heaven.

I plan on buying a desktop PC in a month or two. I didn't own one for around seven years and therefore am not really informed, so I will need a bit of consulting.
I planned on getting a medium-priced PC with a GPU around the price/performance of a GTX 650 (I won't play much besides ql and its predecessors). But is that enough to use lightboost to full extent? I read that one should get a 680 at least to utilize lb at 120hz. Is that only true if one wants to play graphics-intense stuff like bf3&sorts or also for ql?
Btw plan on getting a BenQ xl2411t.

I wanted to play some Quakeworld, but it will always load with huge black areas all around, the ingame screen is just a box in the middle of the screen. After a little bit of trying, I just downloaded some cfgs (for example using custom heighth/width 16:9) and just executed them... still just that little box... Since I never was too much into qw, I don't really have elaborate routes of finding the problem(s). Any ideas?

I have been playing with the same mouse and pad for around three years now, so it's definitely time to get a new pad and maybe even a new mouse. But since I have quite limited knowledge concerning these areas I would love some feedback on which alternatives sound reasonable for me.
Right now I am using a Logitech MX518 on a SteelSeries QcK, ellboes resting on the table and moving mouse mostly with my wrist. Mouse is on 800 dpi. Ingame sens is 3.25, accel is on .1
If you need more info, pls ask. If I know what you are talking about, I will give it.
Additionally, if you think my settings are inane, give me an answer too. I am always fond of good feedback and advice =)

Wanted to rewatch the grand final, but the VODs from adroitstv on twitch.tv seem to have vanished. A quick search on twitch and youtube did not help me find the original VOD (only group B-VODs are up on the "Adroits TV"-channel). If anyone has a link ready... That would be awesome. Or are those matches lost? =/
