I have the solution to make quake great again.
Battle Royale set on the Quake 1 universe, some avatars with strafe jumping but other shit nerfed vs non strafe jump capable ones, so we strafejump lovers can do our thing and quake illiterate players can have their cake too.
Make it happen id!
Try this one guys, fun shit. First time i get hooked to a battle royale game.
Being on top for all these years, and winning the QC title after what he went on a personal level. If you dont give the man credit you dont know wtf youre talking about. His titles alone speak volumes but It takes god like level of mental and emotional strength to keep your focus and be professional after such a huge personal loss.
Congrats and respects, thanks for investing your talent in the game we love <3

Ive just completed Doom 1993 again and starting Doom2.
For the first time i focused on level design and holy shit, at least the first 6 levels of Doom2 blow the shit out of original Doom level design.
Like theres no comparision.
Cant find it on his list of games from Wikipedia.

EDIT: Zero4 and Willits just announced that due to my heavy influence in the community there will be a QC EU event in 4th quarter of this year, part invitational and part qualifier, and Cypher/Agent are the first two invites. Thanks id.
Theres only one way we can send a big fuck you to id/zero4 with all the sneaky things they have done, first with the late announced EU regionals seed system, and then "losing" the paperwork that Agent sent timely and ending with a visa letter with his surname misspelled and no plane tickets information, i mean how much disrespectful the situation is? Im far from an Agent fan, but he won his place and put the hard work in. Also Cypha out, the stronger quakecon player in history next to Rapha. Thats 2 of the best QC players in the world out ffs.
Lets Boycott Failcon 2017, make those view numbers plummet, so they realize they need to get their shit together because we are a community that support our icons.

Anyone knows a hardware store in NY where you can buy the original infamous Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical?
A friend is there for some days, but big stores like B&H and BestBuy dont have them.
Thanks in advance!

Closed and unaccesible, so if you have something worthy there, save it while you can.
I think that the same way NDA was lifted too early and the closed beta ended too early (because you can call it closed all you want but if anyone can grab a key its not closed anymore), theyre going open forums too early.

So first Australians gonna have to wait, and no mention of Asia or Southamerica.
Southamerica had one of the most active QL communities (Argentina, Brazil and Chile are full of Quakers).
Compared to the work of making an AAA game, renting some servers on some ISP is kids play.
Incoming shitstorm and bad rep of the game, and deservely so.
Just revised this site and after 2 years still the goal isnt met, if anyone wants to donate great. Guy was a stud in the Q3A NA community and died super young. Thanks.
I have uploaded one of the last important matches i played in a online southamerican tournament (Reikocon 2015 quarter finals). Taking into account Quake Champions is about to be released, i probably wont be playing QuakeLive anymore, so i uploaded this piece of history to show my amazing skills to my grand-kids in the future.

For those with a lot of free time, and that enjoy drama, i leave google docs sheet with name highligth for easy reading (gillz red, me green, rest cyan) of a recent issue. We both got kicked some days ago for a similar situation.
What do you think guys? Its gillz the tard that cant respect other people opinions or its me that should let him attack me with his comments no problemo? Cause its hard to get attacked and instead of dealing with the tard, you have to let him say super stupid ad-hominem shit towards you and stay quiet or get kicked. And the channel was on offtopic mode long before i chimed in with my view of what was already being talked about, that wasnt the problem, imo its gillz inability to respect that other people can have different opinions, ive seen him on similar attacks vs xero and others on the very same channel when they dont have his same opinion. But dont let my biased view of the problem be the decider, have a good read while we wait for the beta.
Those that read please vote
Those that DONT CARE please DONT CARE enough to not shitpost or shitvote because otherwise YOURE CARING. But i think theres at least one obvious negative force in the channel and i dont believe its me.
Anybody has a clue what are the planned locations for QC beta servers? Outside of obvious NA and EU ones. I suppose QC will only have official servers too.

A new team has made public his attendance to the QuakeCon 2015 TriMasters tournament
. Four players from South America just formed the team SEVERED LEGION
. They're currently accepting donations (limited to 800€) to help the team get to USA.
For over a decade the best Quake players of Latin America have been waiting for this moment.
The time to come to light, to show the world how ruthless we can be.
With a team conformed by Colombians, Chileans and Argentinians, four of the best players of the region will go to Dallas this 2k15 to prove themselves as a team named SEVERED LEGION and make a twist in the history of Quake.
- The Argentinian Champions, Doomsd4y and c0D47.
- The Chilean Legend, the most skilled player in Chile: Etjx
- The Nº1 in his Nation… by far… |CrazY| the Colombian Beast!
We are attending QCon this year, finally as a solid team, training each day for several hours to kick hard the Tri-Masters Tournament. We’re going to be streaming our training a lot, as well as a CTF league in the upcoming weeks.
The only thing we need to make this happen is to reach the donation limit of 800€ for the whole team…. YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT, 800€ for the whole team.
And of course, good luck to all the players attending to Dallas this year!

Im suffering a crisis. I stopped playing quakelive bc i cant stand being forced to play with a gay announcer, im currently messing a little with reflex and qw, but im being unable to get hooked to any game right now. Upgraded my cpu/mem last year (i5-4570, 8g ram), and two weeks ago i bought a 750 SC. Ive bought/downloaded a lot of games recently, but im failing to get hooked to them. Even playing games i enjoyed a lot some years ago but stopped playing because of x motives, like bc hardware not good enough to play at max settings, example Oblivion, i installed it again, maxed graphics, downloadad hi res pack, but it feels empty like the rest of the games i try.
For some reason my suspension of disbelief is failing. Example: I get close to textures, no mater the game if you get close enough you see the texture pixels, and it makes me sad. Im afraid im maturing at 37 years old and these games are starting to feel empty. That or my perfectionist side has become too demanding. We are in 2015, more than 10 years has passed since doom3 (which was the last game that made me crazy happy with its graphic improvements for the time) and i just see minor improvements in games. Dying Light for example, it has great graphics, but you still see pixels if you get close to things and the animations are good but nothing revolutionary.

Guys, im having a blast playing quakeworld. You need to spend some days to adapt to the different pace etc from quakelive, but man once you do, it becomes so much fun! non stop action.
Also no one will change its sounds (VO cough cough), gameplay (loadouts, lg 7 to 6, etc). You feel like youre playing a really stable, rock solid game, that will be available forever and ever!
Theres a crazy proxy funcionality included in quakeworld, thanks to which for example i can play with 60ms with chile and brazil, when with quakelive its 180. They are testing some servers in Panama too, so NA and SA players can playing with even (aprox 100ms) ping. And best part, its totally automatic! The fucking game searches the best routes with the proxys availables and connects you thru them.
With all the gay stuff and uncertainity going around quakelive today, quakeworld feels hardcore as fuck. I feel ive changed to a more skilled, solid and fun game. Feels nice to be a gamer again.

Today playing some qw with the awesome server setup in southamerica and proxy native support of qw, we briefly talked about reflex. They asked me if its gonna natively support proxys in servers/clients like qw does. I think it would be great for people that otherwise would be unable to play together due to ping.

Since the steam release, the Argentinan servers dont appear 90% of the time in the QL match browser. Also the chat doesnt always work, showing 0 contacts. You can still do a /connect ip:port so the actual servers are online and working ok, unless the chat isnt working then it stays on awaiting challenge/auth, its like the auth server is so bugged or overloaded that sometimes it just wont work. Ofc most players stopped playing cause they dont see any server on the server list so they think its down, also not everybody is fan enough to try more than 50 ports to find a suitable game in the mod/map you want, cause customs servers arent working. Its like going back to the stone age... Most of those servers are bugged also with the Sarge model autochange, god i hate that bug, and the random kicking bug at the start of matches. This is a clusterfuck of epic proportions. Its incredible how much we love this game to keep playing with all these problems.
I chatted with sponge about this on irc some days ago, he told me its a problem of the connections "down there", funny it worked perfectly till the steam update, and all the other games that are hosted on that datacenter and goes through the same cable dont have any issues. I think hes either lying or clueless because as i said everything else is working ok on the dataserver. I know a lot of pro subscribers that only play on those servers and are mad as hell, this is so crazy they release something to grow but instead they generate serious disappointment. Im so disappointed that for the first time im starting to play quakeworld, because lets be honest qw is uber hardcore and has that nostalgia feeling, also the high res textures are nice. And the best part i dont depend on mediocre staff.

Seeing my initiative to create a community based portal for quake4 didnt got much attention, i got another idea for achieving the same goal in a different way.
id could integrate in a not distant future a quake4 option in quakelive. And maybe in the future, if it ever becomes released, quake5??? You utilize the same friends, chat, portal etc that you have running.
Hi guys, im kind of nervous with all the recent changes, normally im a total fanboy who tries to keep playing no matter whatever happens, but some of the latest changes are making my fanboy side transform into a hater, and i dont want to hate.
Quake4 is a damn fine game and has much better gfx than QL which is a good point for possible newcomers. And we know that they wont be releasing crappy patches anytime soon.
Also its been like 6 years since QL started, one of the main reasons why id chose quake3 was that at that time it could run in most PCs, i would say that 6 years later Q4 could run in most PCs too.
id is clearly shitting on the hardcore fanbase with the recent forced changes, the VO being something that totally ruins my experience, instead of playing a hardcore game i feel im babysitting robots, fuck that.
So why not we, the hardcore fans, make something about it? I know it would be a lot of work and we would need to raise some money, the idea being creating a community portal similar to the QL one, were we could add friends, browse servers according to location, etc.
I think it would be worth the effort, mainly because we can be completely sure id wont be able to do shit about it. Q4max development could be resumed to accomodate possible bugfixes etc, new maps could be made without having to pass id software approval, we would have more freedom again!
I know it may sound crazy, but a 1000 miles journey starts with one step.
For the graphic whores who dont want to play it because its "old tech" bla bla bla
I take a wooden chess over gold checkers any day
Feel free to use it with anyone who dares to compare the quintessential deathmatch fps with any other piece of beautiful trash.

One friend is selling his asus b85-m mobo with i5 4570 and 8gb ddr 1600 for a really interesting price.
Now i have a Q8300 with 4gb ddr800.
Vga card would stay (ati 5750) cause 3 years later with the same money i bought it, i can buy a card which is only 10% faster, which i find outrageous.
Do you think its worth the upgrade? Would it make a big differences in maps known to suffer from fps drops? Would it help postprocessing taking a smaller hit on performance just changing cpu mobo and memo? Or do you think theres a high probability this new setup could give me those sad unexplained fps drops/hitchs that many people suffer with QL with and newer hardware?

Based on a recent topic by Emenike who is too stubborn to see his twitch subscription fund based and spectator locking idea is bad, im creating this topic.
Basically the idea is first of all get some of the DH admins to greenlight a possible QL tourney where they help us with the infrastructure (place, PCs, monitors, etc). If this happens, next step would be getting Memento to start a paypal donation where the $$$ for the prize pool is raised. Meanwhile we could contact possible sponsors to donate hardware or money to make the prizepool better.
Having only Quakecon as a big lan tourney seems not enough for the amazing top players this community has and theres plenty of time ahead.
UPDATE: let this thread die guys, its not the moment, we will revive it after DH tournaments announcements according to what theyre up to

As detailed here
Looks really nice imo, obv picmip fans wont like them, but would be awesome for streamers, newcomers, and gfx whores. I suppose the legal part is prolly the main obstacle.
Wouldnt it be cool if apart from a read first unread comment by date, there would be a "only new comments" one that simply hides all messages but the ones you still havent read? It get tiresome to scout big threads searching all the new comments.
Lets start with your contenders to the title.

What about creating one pool for all donations, and each donator gets to vote one player (with a minimum requirement so to avoid $1 donator trolls voting many times, also for each x ammount of money you donate, you get to vote another player). Then according to the amount colected the players with more votes get the moneyz. If some player for x reason cant or wont go, next most voted player takes his place. I think we should set a fixed ammount of help, like $2000 or something, rest should be covered by player or sponsors.
If theres a DH, we can do the same for american players.
If theres a good purpose to invest in quake, apart from supporting the game, its helping elite players going to events.

Was just seeing the second group round of the april 125fps league and the ammount of russia is over 9000, lets see:
Russia: 10 players
Bellarus: 3 players
Germany: 2 players
Belgium, France, Norway, Sweden, Estonia: 1 player
Ended being a good thing. No more "stream need cooller" to pump viewers, faceit zoot doing solid numbers, not mindblowing but basically better than what most cups having cooller last year did (special events like legends cup dont apply). Evil Cypher being a great rivalry helps a lot too. Some quake millonarie should hire RAPHANG to live and play in europe and were set :) Im seeing a small but steady increase in my region of duel servers with rookie players, which is a very good sign too.

edit2: People that think this can split the community, i agree that is a point thats hard to predict. Would you be ok to implement it only in practice/warmup(optional ofc)?
Reading the comments on the analog clock thread, ive realized something. It would be very cool to have
ie an unranked duel mode, where you have
item timers, spawns are marked, and all kind of help that we can give guys trying to evolve from basic ca gameplay. Also available on practice mode, and why not optional on warmup? Visual clues are so common today in most games, and some of the code is already done, like the item timers. We arent changing duel, just helping people understand better what is happening before they try to ready up.
Maybe it could be implemented in ctf and tdm, but i see duel as the clear mode for a player trying to transition into full quake skillset. And anyway team modes requires so much that at that point you already shouldnt be needing newbie mode anymore. The implementation can vary, but the objective must be clear, like in every activity helping the newcomers with what we already know, propels their path towards places we couldnt even dream before like today is omgomg C Y P H E R.
edit: another prolly not so hard to implement feature imo is what i posted some time ago, armors and mega on the map on warmup(optional), practice(optional)
and newbie mode
doesnt disappear when taken, they become like 25% transparency of normal item.

The last update to my elo is from a 41 days old game, wazzup? I know i can irc and try a manual update... but it should be automated already right?
Reading other thread about the hard aspect of newbs understanding item control, it could be addded a modifier in custom unranked games/practice games/even a ???new-standard-mode-for-practice??? and wherever else it could help... this:
Items always visible, yep thruwall too like the yellow triangles of teammates, and when you pick them the item its replaced by a counter that displays the time left for it to appear again, which you also can see from any part of the map. When the time is up, the counter is replaced by the spawning item.

buy.. err sorry i meant win the world cup *cough*referees*cough* and get their first ever title, that theyre doing it also with teams, the second penalty against AC Milan was a fucking joke, i bet the referee was pissing himself when Milan score their goal "Oh shit i wont get those yummy bucks now, time to give barça a little help". No doubt Barcelona is a great team sadly this issues darken the value of their titles, and its not the first time, chelsea anyone? etc....
Football is such a great sport, sadly as time goes by it gets more and more tainted by corruption...
My good old 19" CRT LG Flatron started to fail on the weekend, so yesterday i decided to buy my first LCD. After seeing many reviewes i bought the Viewsonic vx2268wm for u$s 318.
It fucking rox!!! Didnt noticed a significant difference in input lag but the resolution improved noticiably compared to the 5 years old refurbished CRT. Also the bigger screen and resolution improves the viewing angle so i can see more shit. While maintaining the 120hz refresh rate :_)
I approve Viewsonic vx2268wm :D
Everything that is, is stored in the ancient machine that runs our multiverse. As the computation proceeds, reality unfolds. Make good use of those cpu cycles and go play some quake bros, its better than porn for your health, also better than those mindless series, comedy movies are ok tho, laughing is good for you. We are souls controlling bodies, not the other way.
I recommend Vitamina D (via sunbath, vit d acts more like a master hormone, regulating many vital systems) and seeds of pumpkins (lots of zinc mmm yumy) also marine salt or himalayan salt to fuel those macro and trace minerals in your brain and the rest of the nervous system, with this you will improve your connection with the source of all (as in you will be closer to your real max potential).
Deny false health myths, hear your body, surrender to the here and now. Thanks for reading.

48 concurrent players (plus some active servers it always fail to show) i know its not a mindblowing number but, not that bad for a dead game on a third world zone :*
Hi guys, i just realized how this aaaaaaamazing Qlranks.com site can help the next quakecon. Its easy, the top x players of each region should be invited to the event, in case of confirming assistance id could pay the rooms in the anatole/whatever. Add/remove features, discuss.

"Scientists from the University of Washington recently decided to try a different approach to help them understand the detailed molecular structure of a retroviral proteases enzyme known as M-PMV that is instrumental in spreading AIDS, as well as other diseases. For over a decade now researchers have looked for the exact chemical key that would help recreate the enzyme, but with no luck."
"The name “Foldit” comes from the nature of the game, where users are asked to undertake one of the most difficult biological problems, folding proteins. The games themselves are open to anyone, and a background in biology is not necessary. Besides actually helping to solve specific protein puzzles, the users’ actions are also recorded and studied to help increase a computer’s ability to increase spatial reasoning through detailed algorithms created based on the games’ results."
“The critical role of Foldit players in the solution of the M-PMV [retroviral protease] structure shows the power of online games to channel human intuition and three-dimensional pattern-matching skills to solve challenging scientific problems,” said the study, which was published by Nature Structural & Molecular Biology. “Although much attention has recently been given to the potential of crowdsourcing and game playing, this is the first instance that we are aware of in which online gamers solved a longstanding scientific problem.”
If you go to qlranks to report some problem you better know exactly whats happening. Dont go and report some problem as a simple user cause you will be treated like some dumbfuck and end kicked. I didnt saw a match from some days ago, so after sirax asked if someone had to report a match, i did it. But the problem was that the match was there, but qlranks had wrongly assigned another player name. So when he got it and fixed it, he bitched at me cause i reported a missing match when in fact i should have reported more exactly that the match was there but with wrong nick. When i told them they were being rude, sirax simply kicked me.
I know qlranktards will bash me, unable to search for truth, with their cups full of fanboyness.
communities from gaming? Not judging, im fine with it, but if i recap the info i have with close friends that play/ed, to the idols i watch on the streams, and in between examples, myself, for example we dont laugh much and if we do, its more like the bad grins, obv there are exceptions, but you get the idea...
I became Pro :>
The cheapest 50 bucks ive ever spent, not only for the hours of play, but for the faces of whiners reading this post :D
The first tournament of national teams in the world has a new champion and the total of cups is as follows:
"The full tournament rules will be posted later today, including a rules change for the Duel tournament to accommodate the high quantity of quality requests for invites." SyncError
Just love them, havent payed a dime yet and i play nearly every night the genre i love with lots of happy campers.
Too much fluoride via toothpaste/water/salt letting devastating aluminium traverse the brain barrier causing neurological IQ lowering while also shutting down the pineal gland (third eye, intution, imagination) due to calcification and fluorosis, mercury via contaminated seas and vaccinations shuttind down the brain and producing blood capilar problems that go mostly unnoticed but handicaps for live, GMO food with "playing to god" genetics, Aspartame in diet beverages that is an exitocin damaging neurons, alcohol being one of the most toxic stuff you can use compared with most of the supposedly "hard drugs", same for tobbaco that is a killer while pot is a known healer hence suppresed by big pharma, hemp is one miraculous herb with vast uses till it was suppresed by cotton/sintetics interests. Sadly money talks, truth is dead, and justice, people cant handle truth at this point, the vast majority is at the denial stage, yet. Living in separation, rather than oneness. A prison planet for spirituality.
I leave you with 2 tubes that is just a start for those interested in the well being of themselves and people in general. If we dont fight for our rights as human beings together, no one is going to do it for us.

Cesium-137 Plume dissipation through the northern hemisphere, half life thousands of years
Cant believe people in japan and the rest of the world are letting this happen. And this is just a start, there are hundreds of nuclear plants in the world stockpiling fuel that needs to be kept coolled for hundreds of years otherwise it melts and is released to the ecosystem. I mean everything is so complex for people, we are extremely controlled, in some countries Xrayed, papers for everything which costs money and each day more paper and more burocracy, etcetc but they do really stupid things planing bad ideas like fission nuclear plants with extremely ugly spent fuel issues vs all the other options available??? And in these case storing between hundreds and thousands of used radioactive rods in the ROOFS of places prone to EXPLOSIONS near a coast of a very active TECTONIC PLATE with possibilities of TSUNAMIS???? CCCCCCCCCCCCCMON. MOX fuel the worst one that is made with the rest of nuclear weapons. And this isnt only a problem of the Japanese there are regulatory agencies for everything nuclear, WHAT THE FLYING FSCK??? This is chernobyl on steroids dudes, and it has been knows since the explosion on Reactor #3 of the Fukushima DaiiChi Plant.
Is people really this sheep, the worst disaster ever of our civilization is talking place and goverments are just doing damage control... So many people suffering...
i.e. the international community did a lot for Haiti, very quickly. Meanwhile they are letting the shit hit the fan on purpose here bros, enjoy the ride. Radioactive Plutonium, Cesium, Iodine for the sheep. Those in the know have self suficient bunkers ready. Everything is accelerating waiting the near close encounter we will have with Elenin. They care less every day because were so close to a planned WW3 and a the probable cyclic ELE that theyre caring less every day and being more obvious, recently now people is slowly very slowly waking up and smelling the coffee. Godspeed Fellow Humanity!
Whats the problem if we go a little back to the source, ever heard of Thresh? Who won one of the most important quake tournament ever? And please it wasnt Cooller who defined this return to a more strategic game it was rapha and rightfully so he kicked some serious butt. Accept what is. This isnt about QuakeLive or weapons or maps, its about playing to win, thats what a pro does. If you want exhibition matches go play some warsow or cpm, imo this is a great sign of a high level brain game with more than enough possibilities of fast action if the circunstances are met. You cant have it both ways.
Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, by director Peter Joseph, is a feature length documentary work which will present a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society.
This subject matter will transcend the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical "life ground" attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a "Resource-Based Economy".

Thought it was Gillz till now, but i was wrong, gillz isnt smart enough to be it, he isnt good even at being bad. But noctis, o man, he wants to turn ql into cpm!!! Hey Sync stop hearing him, it will be the ruin of QuakeLive!!! God help us all!!!!!!!!!
YAY OR NAY
Very enjoyable, the slow high jumps with low grav plus the crazy strafing with high grav, having to adapt on the fly to new grav conditions, very funny indeed.Thanks.
should be handled. But i know how they shouldnt, and its whats happening now. Different organizations chosing different maplists.
I will only say that change for the sake of change isnt good. People is shortsighted so their personal interests interfere with the game.
dm6 removal, the most played map, the one that even noobs knows how play, out of the list? So if im a newb im simply out, not one map to understand, just random walls that doesnt make sense. strike 1
t9 removal, a fast, easy to learn, action packed, rainy original map. If anyone knows the real motives behind the spider masterminds that taken these decision please enlighten me cause if there is people boycotting QL those are... strike 2
Dismemberment inclusion.... lawl
I have to say that in my opinion when a map aquires certain degree of playing time it should stay evah. It becomes a classic, a must learn in the path to quake excelence. Examples being dm6, ztn, t4, hub and dm13. Then yes rotating maps, that may eventually become part of the list. 2 rotating maps like t9 and my other personal chose would be prantic, fun map. But i dont care as much of the new maps chosen, as to not kill classics stupid! So diversity is added, but the ones you already studied hard are there too. In some time maybe there would be 7 static maps plus 2 rotating for a total of 9 in the maplist.

Dont know you but for me the main page of the QuakeLive site is a clusterfuck. It feels really unintuitive. So heres my 15 min mspaint idea of a clean main page, rest can be added as buttons options whatever.
Basically the most important info in my opinion are friends and servers, so theyre at the top. The server list shows all servers, but with smaller icons so they fit all in the window and gives you a bigger idea of the game activity, as you hover it automatically zooms smoothly and you can see more info of that particular server. The friend list is also bigger and has more options to sort.
Its just random thought so you can whine all you want with the many errors it has. Constructive feedback welcome.
