The Moscow’s GRU experiment that was first introduced in Quake 3 is making the return to the quake champions roster. His notable active ability is called piercing sight - it temporarily reveals enemy position on the map. His passive ability called Grashopper circumvents the speed caps that other champions have and with enough skill, you can keep up with all champions.
From the Quake Champions website:
"Quake Champions – Visor Champion Trailer
Visor made his debut in Quake 3 Arena, and now he’s back for more bloodshed in Quake Champions. This ruthless, unfeeling killer lives for the fight, and he’s damn good at it. With his Piercing Sight active ability, Visor is designed to always be one step ahead of his opponents, making him perfect for any strategist looking to have some fun in the Arena."
Visor will be available to try out during the Large-Scale Tech Test, which will run from May 12 through May 21 and be open to anyone who wants to hop in. Go to Quake.com to get your code for the Tech Test and take a look at Visor in our latest trailer.
Moscow’s GRU designed Visor to be the perfect soldier. Tireless. Unfeeling. Impervious to pain and panic. A clone equipped with cybernetic enhancements, Visor is more machine than man. A mask filled with strange putrefied blood was grafted onto his face, giving him the ability to see through matter. He’s a predator through-and-through, and now the Arenas of the Dreamworld have become his hunting grounds, where he stalks the other Champions with boundless persistence.
ACTIVE ABILITY – PIERCING SIGHT
Using his Piercing Sight active ability, Visor can temporarily see through all matter, allowing him to keep tabs on any opponents who may be trying to get the drop on him. He can even use his Sight to track Nyx after she has activated Ghost Walk. Good luck trying to sneak up on a man who can see through walls.

PASSIVE ABILITY – GRASSHOPPER
Visor may be cocky about his skills, but he certainly has the speed to back up his claims. He can even keep up with the fast-talking (and faster moving) Anarki. Thanks to his Grasshopper passive ability, Visor can continually gain speed when strafe-jumping, with no cap on just how fast he can go. If you’ve got the skill, you’ll be able to keep up with anyone. Paired with Piercing Sight, Visor is a handful in Deathmatch and the perfect choice to bring along for a Duel.
Be sure to hop into the Tech Test and test your mettle with Visor."
Just like with Racing, you'll have to make the most of straight-aways with this particular "car". Choosing the right moments using the active is absolutely key, here.
Seems like one of the best designed "Champions", so far.
I think I'd prefer they drop his health a bit and give him standard q3 speed, like Ranger has, so he can be the q3-style champ.
Ranger is currently the q3 champ in speed and health, but not in movement (due to the speed cap). And visor is the q3 champ in movement, but not in speed and health.
twitter is funny:
@bethesda: No one is better than Visor, according to Visor.
@QuakeChampions: Visor is half man, half machine, and a predator in the Arena. He's also kind of a dick.
Active ability: Enlightened hand. Through rigorous meditation the master has attained a level of aim that is not humanly possible. Lock onto an enemy for "x" secs.
Passive ability: V.A.T.S. - Vadrigar Assisted Targeting System
It says that Sorlag's trailer is "next".
After Sorlag, there's an unknown "coming soon".
According to the timesteps of each character's trailer occurance, it should be roughly around June 12th.
E3 2017 is on June 13-15.
So basicly, on a rough guess, they're going to do either (or a combo of):
1) Show new content on E3 (maps/reworked menu);
2) Present a totally Open Beta on E3;
3) Present the Final Game on E3;
4) Give a realease date of the final game and it's model on E3;
5) Only new champion on E3;
6) Announce cl_mouseaccel on E3 (ok ok, joku joku).
Whatever they do, they should do BIG. This year, on E3, amongst all entries, there's going to be one blockbuster that everyone will have to deall with, and that is CoD:WW2.
The franchise that has fallen down with a boom and a bang, has had its fans begging to return to World War 2, and the devs did it. There's already a rough teaser/trailer for it, and there's going to be quite a reveal on E3, every ex-CoDMW2-360-noscope kid is wetting their pants on this release.
What's with americans obsession with Russia? Why everything has to revolve around it? That stuff about visor is completely uncalled for. Visor in q3 was a strogg, an unwilling cyborg abomination made by aliens.
There's also the fact that we have a strong quake community in Russia, the first time I heard visor speak his "you got lucky" lines I thought it's Cooller or someone else who's disappointed by a mishap.
If anything, he sounds like the least offensive character yet... lol.
As for America's obsession with Russia, it's about as different as white people get from one another. Eastern Europe in general is an amazing place, check it out for yourself.

What his back story should be: He is from Spain and his dad is a laywer.
"I am understand that Quake Champions make no id, but russian studio Saber Interactive. But why here propaganda russian(terrorist) security service GRU? This is game not politics. Do not spoil game and name of Visor. Please change bio of Visor! Name of GRU is offend free world!"
- Nope. I'm not the one who dislike that neanderthal biowaste.
But I'm keep calm about reminding of them, it's not an object to hate anytime, but disgust and distrust. The russians really succeed in Quake, especially in masking their WH - there should be cheater-antagonist character somewhere. Bad choose for Visor - it was known Strogg, not ruzky. They'd better create new character, some kind like Orc.
P.S. And yeah: their "brave GRU super-puper spetsnas warriors" could not take one Ukrainian airport for 265 days, until it was fully ruined and unusable. Reminding of myths of"russian military power" makes me laugh.
- This one dirty katsap was sure that Mexicans live in kremlin myth's too, and afraid of "russian mafia", until villagers came to his hole for a justice:
Also from youtube comments section: the russian character had to be a hacker. lol
