I'm not saying #iluminati but... #jews Kappa
BTW this gates thing is serious thing or just serious shit talking? Hard to tell when people believe they can get injected with autism ]:0
back in like 2005-2006 I wanted to attend an ASUS. I actually could have but I was going to stay with LeXeR and there was a particular reason I could not stay with him, I don't remember details.. so I decided not to go
I don't understand why some of the NA players are getting upset about some EU players asking for donations to get to QCON. Afraid of the extra competition? The fact is QCON is the only major QL LAN left and it's in NA when EU is far more active and it cost them a lot more to attend. Not to mention the fact that the cost of living is A LOT higher in much of Europe then it is in the States. The game isn't sponsored anymore and if you don't agree with them asking the community for donations you don't have to give them any it's that simple.
Well, you know, this is 'murica... Where people think reading the news and watching a bit of CNN eating morning bacon is supreme knowledge of the world. A pay to sleep well society where a one time random donation to <generic humanitarian organization name here> earns you respect and gratitude from the poor little souls you just saved so you can run around in your big ass truck consuming more fuel to go get a hamburger than it would take to provide energy for a week to a third world family.
Ignorance is bliss they say, and 'murica is certainly a place to find happiness. Good thing they are not all like that. It would also be nice if one could detail his daily routine and provide a full history of their human life saving donations and acts of humanism before being allowed to write their piece of moralizing vomit.
edit: Also, just because you have this naive ideology of what "'murica" is, does not mean you're right. And the fact that you're basically complaining about awareness to a "random charitable organization" completely discredits you from any further opinion on the subject of charities. Should I live my life in shame because I happen to be an American with a vehicle and the fact that I do like a hamburger? I just don't understand your logic at all. The bottom line is, some people are now aware of UNICEF that were not before, and maybe, just maybe it got their wheels spinning. You don't need to post some philanthropic resume to qualify yourself for wanting to help a cause.
If you don't like it, you can get out
>>This. Please listen to your own advices. Cordially, people.
Also, just because you have this naive ideology of what "'murica" is, does not mean you're right
>>This is not an ideology, this kind of people exist everywhere, but this is the country where they are the loudest. It's cultural, a culture of patronizing.
And the fact that you're basically complaining about awareness to a "random charitable organization"
>>Read again, I think you were already too mad to understand the sentence.
Should I live my life in shame because I happen to be an American...
>>Should anyone live his life ashamed because he doesn't have a quality of life that allows him to go do what he loves (for example going to QCon) by his own means only, once again, listen to your own advices sometimes
I just don't understand your logic at all.
>> -understand +want to hear (it's ok, I know it's hard to listen so I'll let this one slip)
The bottom line is, some people are now aware of UNICEF that were not before
>>I am so sorry, in the flood of your hatred all over the various donation posts I didn't comprehend your selfless and absolute altruism intention here, my bad.
You don't need to post some philanthropic resume to qualify yourself for wanting to help a cause
>>Before talking trash on people you better make sure to show you are actually better than them and apply to yourself the lessons you are about to deliver.
Well, that doesn't leave much in this one...
PS: the one about your altruism MIGHT be irony
Have a very nice day. And please when you kids ask for an ice cream, tell them to get a job, just because in some countries they would be old enough to earn their own damn ICE CREAM
This is not an ideology, this kind of people exist everywhere, but this is the country where they are the loudest. It's cultural, a culture of patronizing.
>>That is your opinion. Not a fact. And I disagree.
Read again, I think you were already too mad to understand the sentence.
>>Wrong. I was not mad, at all. And I understood perfectly. I do not assume a one time random donation earns anyone respect. That is not the point of donating to charity.
Should anyone live his life ashamed because he doesn't have a quality of life that allows him to go do what he loves (for example going to QCon) by his own means only, once again, listen to your own advices sometimes
>>This has nothing to do with your original statement. I asked you a question and you did not answer. Getting a job is not a shameful thing.
-understand +want to hear (it's ok, I know it's hard to listen so I'll let this one slip)
>>Once again, terrible logic, assuming that I adopt this "-understand +want" policy, which I do not. Try again.
I am so sorry, in the flood of your hatred all over the various donation posts I didn't comprehend your selfless and absolute altruism intention here, my bad.
>>Flood of hatred? Re-read the posts. I was simply responding to what people asked me or said. Specifically, when they would try to attach an agenda to what I was saying. Once again, off base.
Before talking trash on people you better make sure to show you are actually better than them and apply to yourself the lessons you are about to deliver.
>>I am not better than anyone, nor am I applying a lesson. I am simply making people aware of a great place to volunteer and or donate.
Why are you running up your internet and electricity bill instead of giving everything you earn above subsistence level to an unfortunate child from Uganda, you hypocrite?
While dkt really did try to lighten up the mood - quite successfully so I might add, this is merely an agenda and an investment in his online persona.
I would have been completely oblivious if this highly enlightening knowledge wouldn't have been passed upon me by the GrandMaster of online interactions, known by his monicker "hitsu".
maybe youre old/out of touch. kickstarter type crowdfunding is just something you'll have to accept. if someone thinks $5 so cypher or whatever can get to quakecon is worth the value of seeing their favorite player at some tournament so be it
> Spending an awful lot of time on this for someone who doesn't care
i didn't say you cared. i said it certainly seems so. if you try to deny that it's pretty obvious you're impossible to argue with because of lack of common sense and brain
No, unicef will redistribute the money to those who badly need it around the world. Like poor Quake players who would prefer not to pay themselves for a trip to QuakeCon.
