This pertaining mainly to the sensor...
Does anybody know what they did to the new 3.0 sensor that makes it different than the old one (dpi/hertz/engine)? And can anyone tell me if they prefer the old/new one over the other and why? Thanks
you cant buy the old one anymore, so just use and get on with the new one as thats all your ever going to be able to replace in the future
or just buy a deathadder which is the same shape, doesnt feel like some cheap bit of plastic, has no negative mouse accelleration and tops mousescore by a mile
So Microsoft claiming that the new 3.0 was more accurate and responsive with a improved optical sensor was just a bunch of crap?
EDIT:
This is the line taken from Selling Points of the new 3.0:
"the new IE3.0 features teflon feet, a new 9000 Frames Per Second optical sensor (400DPI), and a redone black paintjob."
So clearly it is not the same sensor as the original. My question is: Which sensor do gamers prefer and why?

yea, I still have my original from XX years ago too. I had switched back to it for a time after I slammed the shit out of my new black one. I just heard that players were preferring the original because the new black one's sensor didn't track as well as the old one.
afaik old 3.0 has the 1.1a sensor (6000hz), the new gen 3.0 has a 9000hz sensor instead. It's a great mouse so you'll be fine with it but I can't compare to old sensor as I never had one before.
